The days passed much quicker than the 5th years would have liked. While they admittedly enjoyed Hogwarts, having considered it a second home for the last 5 years, they were less than excited to be returning to their lessons. It was also clear that the Ministry would not be catching Sirius Black anytime soon, creating a lot of unwanted tension and anxiety within the wizarding community, though the friends didn't seem as bothered by the news as others.
"Y/N, wake up!" Fred shouted, banging on the girl's door. "At this rate, Black could steal you away in the middle of the night and you wouldn't realize until you were dead!"
"Maybe I want to be taken!" Y/N's voice shouted back, slightly muffled by the door. "He's an attractive man, Weasley."
"She's mental," Fred mumbled, looking back at George, who was leaning against the opposite wall. "You sure you want that?"
George shook his head and listened on as Y/N's room began to exude loud banging noises, likely from her attempting to pack as quickly as possible. Molly had advised them to pack the night before, but she clearly did not take the advice seriously.
"Are you hiding a body in there? Bloody hell," Fred commented, resulting in something roughly hitting the door. "Alright! Alright! But, mum wants to leave soon!"
"5 minutes!"
The twins exchanged glances and shrugged, silently deciding to wait it out.
Eventually (much longer than 5 minutes later), Y/N joined the others and rushed to the fireplace on the ground floor. She shot the twins a warning look before grabbing a bit of flop powder and shouting, "Kings Cross Station."
She was one of the first of the crew to arrive and, upon Molly and Arthur's encouragement to go on ahead - they were still waiting on Ron - she headed towards the platform alone, figuring the twins would be taking a few extra moments to tease their siblings.
Her eyes were still waking up, so the entire walk to the platform consisted of her tiredly rubbing her eyes and willing them to focus. She had half-blindly run through the usual brick wall and was so out of it that she didn't move away fast enough to avoid the next people running through.
A startled shout left her as a cart rammed into the back of her and she toppled to the ground.
"Holy shit. I'm so sorry- Y/N?"
She took a moment to reorient herself before looking up to see Adrian standing above her. He had grown over the break and his arms were noticeably tone.
"Well, that's one way to greet a girl," she said. He extended a hand towards her, which she gratefully took, and let his hand linger while she found her balance. "Do you always run into people?"
Although they had let go of each other by this point, they were still standing extremely close. The force with which he pulled her up had brought her stumbling in his direction.
"Not if I can help it," he replied with an amused look. "Do you always stand in the way of traffic?"
"Occasionally," she shrugged.
"We should get out of the way, don't you think?" he asked, placing a light hand on the small of her back to guide her away from the wall. The rumbling of another pair of carts came soon after.
"You reckon she's done shouting?"
Y/N looked up to see Fred and George glancing back at the wall, likely referring to their mother, before giving each other a shrug.
"Probably not," George answered. His eyes moved away from Fred and he froze as he spotted Y/N standing with Adrian. His eyes narrowed and his jaw tightened as he spotted Adrian's hand on her back.
