"Woah, woah, woah. Slow down..."
The infirmary was just as you remembered; in fact, nothing had changed. Not the placement of the beds, nor the desk Sigewinne normally occupied. Even that suspicious crate of boxes that seemed oddly out of place was still stacked in the corner, forbidden to those who had no permission to venture there.
"It's hard to slow down when your mind is going a million miles per minute." You argued, feeling frustration tether through your bones. "I won the match, fair and square. But they decided to call a draw? You can't even get a draw like that! He passed out first!"
"Okay, I wasn't necessarily concerned about that part, but if you feel the need to vent about it..." Sigewinne stood below you by the bed, worry flickering through her expression. "But I still need to access your body. Obtaining a vision is one thing, but using it is another."
"And then this stupid thing..." You grumbled, holding the vision in your hand tightly. "It's literally the reason I couldn't finish what I was trying to do. I don't even know how it... happened."
"What were you trying to do...?" She asked, her small hands placing a bit of pressure on your abdomen.
You bit back a wince of slight pain, your facial features hardening. "...I just needed to beat him. That's it."
"You never were too concerned about beating him in the past." She prompted, "Is there a specific motive you have, or something that triggered it?"
You chose silence as your answer, letting Sigewinne prod away at you. She could tell that you were letting on more than you wanted to say, but she also didn't want to upset or anger you anymore than you currently were. And after what Wriothesley told her... she couldn't say much herself.
But she pretty much knew everything already.
"...Okay. You have a few burn marks and a bit of frostbite on your arms, so you'll need to use this ointment every morning when you wake up." She finally spoke, handing you a bottle of an unknown fluid. "No more than once a day. You don't want to overdo it."
"...Right." You muttered in response, keeping your eyes averted from hers.
"I suggest you stay here for the time being, just until I can-"
You quickly interrupted her words, standing up from the edge of the bed. "I've got to go."
"...Oh, um..." Sigewinne paused as she watched your movements, hesitation clear in her tone. "...Well, alright then. Just get some rest and don't move around too much."
Confusion washed over you for a moment as you side eyed her, slowly tucking the bottle away inside of your pocket. Normally, she'd press you to stay longer, especially if you were injured. She even forced you to stay in bed when you got a simple scathing on your thigh, something that could easily be patched up with a band aid.
But frostbite and burn marks were somehow not enough to keep her pestering you?
Odd.
You made your way to the exit after not having said anything, your mind still trying to process a lot of what had happened recently.
But the strongest thought of them all was how you didn't manage to kill Wriothesley. You had went all out, used all your strength, and even have learned some new moves just to counteract against his. However, it wasn't enough. There wasn't anything standing in your way, and you had nothing to lose. So what was holding you back?
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn't even see Wriothesley standing at the entrance as you walked out, his eyes flickering over your figure for a moment.
