Though Wriothesley still seemed a bit detached from the present moment, he was awake, and that was all that mattered to you.

You were still leaned up against him, gently playing with the strands of white that were attached to his head. His eyes never left yours, but you could tell that there was still a storm casting within them, something that had yet to pass.

Your words were lodged in your throat; there was so much you wanted to say to him, to ask him, but you felt like it was pointless. Even if you managed to get a coherent response to him, or a response at all, it wouldn't be anything that would help his current situation. You knew of his past, his troubles, and everything that was wrong with him, but you weren't a therapist. You've never had to deal with something like this, let alone help someone through it. You could barely help yourself.

"...You really scared me." You finally said, wanting to see if he'd give you some sort of reaction. "I thought I lost you for a moment."

He blinked slowly, which was some sort of sign, but he didn't move or speak after your words. He just... looked at you. His expression mimicked one of weakness, which was a sign of something you didn't want to think about.

"I'm back." Sigewinne's voice cut through the air, causing you to let out a deep breath. You didn't move, not wanting to separate yourself from him.

"He's awake." You said, carding your fingers through his hair. "But he's not responding to me."

Sigewinne's eyes widened, her pace quickening as she joined you at his side. But when she saw that look in his eyes, her face fell back into that solemn appearance. "It's happening again..."

You understood what she meant. That lost expression, coveted by the sheer vulnerability he was displaying was the telltale sign of psychosis. "And you're sure you don't know of a way to get him out of it?"

She shook her head, sighing as she began removing some medicine from the bag she was carrying. "Only time has been my solution."

"But he needs to snap out of it." You said, not removing your gaze from his, your grip tightening in his hair. "Any minute now, the Gardes will come back and see that he's awake. We need an alibi, and he's the only one who can provide one."

Sigewinne looked up at you, noticing how Wriothesley's hand was still gently placed on the middle of your back. "...Can you try something for me?"

"What is it?" You asked.

"Move away from him." She instructed, "Slowly, though."

You didn't want to leave him, at least make the space between you larger, but you knew that tone in Sigewinne's voice. She was on to something, or trying to test whatever it was that was going through her mind. So you complied, slowly and hesitantly straightening your back and moving your body away from him.

In almost an instant, Wriothesley's hand found the back of your neck and snatched you into the same position you were just in. You were surprised by his strength and sudden movement, which was a stark contrast to his current state of mind.

"I think..." Sigewinne said, her eyes glistening a bit. "...He may be using you as the grounding between his mental state and the present moment."

"What does that mean?" You asked, glancing back at her.

"When someone is detached from reality, and they are aware of it, they'll try to use something to help bind them back to the real world." Sigewinne explained, "He's aware of his state of mind right now. He just can't seem to pull himself out of it completely. So he's using you as a guide to help him."
