You had finally finished answering questions that were asked to you by Clorinde and another formal investigator who oversaw the incident of the fortress' destruction. Though you bended the truth a lot during your story to not incriminate yourself, Sigewinne and Wriothesley, everyone's story had matched up to what they believed had happened.
"I feel like I was in there longer than you." You said to Wriothesley, who was sitting next to you. "They kept trying to ask me about any connections I had with Chronie, but I denied it all."
"Good." Wriothesley replied, taking a sip of tea he had Sigewinne get for him. "As long as Roussimoff stays true to his word, we'll be fine."
"Well, now that that's out of the way..." Sigewinne started, looking between the two of you. "I was talking with Monsieur Neuvillette not too long ago. As I've told Y/N, her sentence was dropped."
Wriothesley's brows raised in surprise, his gaze falling on her. "Didn't expect him to do something like that."
"He also mentioned that it should take about three weeks to completely rebuild the fortress." She continued, "Most of everything that was salvaged is currently in one of the reproduction factories for reconstruction. Thankfully, the base structure of the fortress isn't severely damaged, meaning everything should go smoothly during the process."
"Just means I'll have to worry about a bunch of paperwork soon." He scoffed, taking another sip from his cup.
"As long as I'm able to bask in the sun again, it doesn't matter to me how long they take." You remarked, crossing your arms. "But where will I stay in the meantime?"
"I've already inquired about renting out a place for us." Wriothesley said, "We'll stay there."
"The both of you are in good health." Sigewinne spoke, "I'd say you're more than ready to be released now."
You hummed, leaning back on the bed a bit. "I'm definitely going to have to shop around a bit for clothes and other things..."
"We can worry about that afterwards." He responded, his tone somewhat playful. "I have something to show you when we leave."
"And that is?" You inquired.
"Can't say at the moment." He shrugged, returning to his tea.
You huffed, not appreciating his aloof demeanor. "Why so secretive? Just tell me."
"Patience." He said, a small smirk appearing on his lips. "Or do I have to remind you of that?"
You rolled your eyes, grumbling to yourself. Sigewinne had no idea what Wriothesley was talking about, but she had a feeling it wasn't something she wanted to know, either. "Just let me do a quick check-up on the both of you and you can head out."
"Where will you go in the meantime?" You asked, your gaze following her as she grabbed some of her tools.
"Oh, I'm friends with one of the Melusines who's an assistant to Monsieur Neuvillette." Sigewinne said, "I have a place to stay until the fortress is back up and running."
As she proceeded to examine you first, you kept stealing glances in Wriothesley's direction. He avoided eye contact with you, which you found rather suspicious. He was definitely planning something, and you didn't know whether to be excited, nervous, or both. You always had to keep yourself on your toes around him.
Especially since he was an anchor for trouble when it concerned you.
