"You do this thing a lot."

I sat with Mikey. We watched as the brothers trained. Mikey had an injury from a previous mission and I had already trained earlier. The boys were a bit too rough for me but I felt my veins tingle at the thought of finally being able to face them.

Back at the matter at hand. I turned to look at Mikey, eyebrow raised.

"A thing?"

"Yeah, the one where you stare at Leo the whole time."

"Michelangelo!" I screamed louder than anticipated. The boys stopped to look at us, back and fourth to make sure that we were okay.

"What happened?" Leo asked.

"Nothing," I replied. "Mikey said a dumb joke."

"Actually, it was a fact," he corrected, pointed towards the ceiling to reinforce his statement.

"Which was?" Donnie asked.

"Oh, nothing important. Right, Mikey?" I smiled to play it off but I was livid.

"If you say so," he singsonged.

I punched his arm.

"Hey! That's where I got hurt!"

"You sprained your ankle," Raph said.

"Same thing."

"I'm not going to get upset." Donnie rolled his eyes.

"If you guys are going to distract us, can you stay in the living room?"
My heart dropped.

"No! We can be quiet." I wanted to watch him train. And use his muscles. And grunt.

I'm normal.

I promise.

"Yeah, Leo."

"Fine. One peep out of any of you and you're both leaving."

We both put a thumbs up.

They continued to train and I laid my focus on the leader. My mind began to wander around, see where the simplicities of him training would take me. He never noticed me staring because I would often switch to Raph and Donnie as well. Leonardo has a sixth sense that shouldn't be taken lightly. His training as a ninja has helped him with his awareness.

"You're doing it again," Mikey whispered. I ignored him and maintained my focus on Raph that was performing a move I was currently trying to master.
Oh, turn left foot out and then strike.
That explained my lack of strength in performing the move.
"You're staring."

"I'm looking at Raph."

"Every second you've looked at Raph, you've at him for twice as long."

"Mikey, get off my shell," I threatened. I hadn't realized what I said due to being surrounded by turtles a lot.

"You don't have a shell," he giggled.

"My back. Get off my back."

"Maybe I don't wanna."

"Michelangelo I will throw you off TCRI and make you wish you stopped bringing it up!" I yelled. I hadn't realized what I did until Leo walked up with a big frown. One I could only assume was disappointment.

"Out. Both of you. Now."

I rolled my eyes, standing up before walking away as Mikey limped with his crutches behind me.

"Why are you doing this Mikey?"

"I just wanna know if you have a crush on Leo or not."

"I do! Happy? There's no point in bringing it up. There's nothing to be done for us to end up with each other. He's a mutant. I'm a human. Donnie and April didn't last and it severed their friendship." I looked away from his ocean eyes. My eyes fogged. "I don't want that to happen with Leo and I."

"Don't you wanna risk it?"

"No. I'll wait until my feelings are gone."

"But Y/n..."

"No! Never! Just leave me," I begged as I walked out of the lair.
