Yveltal's screech tore through the sky like a blade through silence, its aura exploding into waves of crimson and black chaos. The very air quivered beneath its fury—winds whipped into cyclones, the clouds swirled into a vortex of maroon and pitch, and the earth cracked open, spewing dark energy. Yveltal was no longer just a Legendary Pokémon—it was a harbinger of destruction incarnate.
At the center of the battlefield, Zygarde writhed in strain. Its serpentine body glowed with fluctuating green and blue light, struggling to maintain its perfect cellular harmony. The chaos from Yveltal's presence was forcing it to the edge. With every beat of Yveltal's wings, shockwaves shattered rocks and flattened trees, distorting the balance that Zygarde fought desperately to preserve.
Trainers on the field shouted through the cacophony of battle, calling out commands with shaking voices, trying to protect themselves and their Pokémon.
"We're losing control!" Clemont screamed, shielding Bonnie behind a crumbling wall of stone.
"It's too strong!" Paul gritted his teeth, clutching a Poké Ball as his Electivire dropped to one knee, singed and exhausted. "This... this thing's a monster!"
And just when it seemed like the chaos couldn't escalate further—
A deep, mechanical hum rumbled from above.
Everyone turned as a panel opened beneath the hovering Team Flare mothership. A second sphere of energy emerged, this one radiating light so intense it forced everyone to squint.
A burst of dazzling, pure light split the stormy sky—
Xerneas had arrived.
Its body shimmered with a gentle glow, and its antlers sparkled in waves of blue, gold, and pink light. Every movement was smooth and silent, like the breeze through a forest at dawn. Even in the middle of chaos, it stood calm—radiating peace, beauty, and power.
But behind its glowing eyes was a quiet sadness... as if it knew this battle went against the very life it was meant to protect
It had been weaponized.
Without warning, spatial distortions tore open near the base of the mothership. Through them slithered nightmarish creatures—corrupted Zygarde fragments, twisted mockeries of nature, glitching and snarling with artificial malice. These weren't allies of Zygarde. They were synthetic parasites, riddled with data corruption.
The field shattered beneath their advance.
"They're trying to override Zygarde's control!" Trevor yelled, his voice barely audible over the rising winds.
"They're breaking the very fabric of nature," Alain muttered, shielding his eyes as a corrupted pulse blasted nearby.
All around, Ash's classmates fought valiantly.
Tierno dragged a limping Trevor to cover, shielding him from incoming attacks.
Sawyer, bruised and panting, stood protectively in front of his weakened Pokémon.
Korrina was on one knee beside her unconscious Lucario, refusing to back down.
Shauna had just pulled Serena out of harm's way, both scrambling to regroup.
Astrid battled fiercely up front, her Absol slicing through corrupted fragments with precision, her eyes scanning the chaos for Ash.
Meanwhile, Alain and Paul fought off Team Flare grunts, their Pokémon battered but burning with defiance. Gary's Blastoise shielded the others, firing Hydro Pumps to push enemies back as he barked commands.
And in the center—Zygarde staggered.
Fighting its own corrupted fragments was tearing it apart. Each blow it struck felt like a betrayal, its body flickering, its eyes dimming. The balance it stood for was crumbling—because this time, the enemy was itself.
