Kelly's POV
I saw a light.
A bright light.
Am I dying?
My eyesight got clearer.
It's just the hospital light.
I blink a bunch because of my sensitive eyes.
Then I saw a boy sitting in a chair next to my hospital bed.
He was rather handsome with brown hair combed upwards.
He was fiddling with a cup of jello.
When he saw me awake he quickly stood up.
"Guys guys she's awake!" He said with a small smile on his face.
I couldn't find the urge to ask who he was or where I was.
All I saw was a bunch of people walk in that I have never seen before.
"Your so strong." A very pretty lady with black hair said holding my hand.
"I think we should give her space." The nurse said.
The lady let go of my hand and they all left.
The boy who was sitting next to me stopped at the door and turned around.
"You like jello?" He asked smiling.
I nodded yes.
"We aren't sure if she should eat anything yet." The nurse said.
"Actually the gelatin contains glycine, which is one of the body's two calming neurotransmitters. Glycine also gets converted into the neurotransmitter serine which actually helps you focus, reduce stress, and improve memory." He said.
The nurse rolled her eyes.
"I'll leave this here for you." He said setting the jello cup on the table.
I smiled at his humor.
He had to be no more than 3 years older than me.
He was so nice.
He's the kind of guy I want to sit down with for hours listening to stories he has to tell.
"You need to rest a little bit and then you can have your jello ok hun." The nurse said.
I nodded and she left.
I closed my eyes for about 10 seconds.
I felt fine really except really weak.
Then I remembered what had just happened. I just lost my father.
I have no one left.
I was almost kidnapped.
I started to hyperventilate again.
The boy ran into the room when he saw me breathing heavily.
He knelt by the side of my bed and grabbed my hand.
I looked at him in the eyes.
"Hey hey it's ok your safe." He said
"Listen I know the nurse said she doesn't know if you should eat but it's just a harmless cup of jello." He said taking it off the table. "A harmless glycine filled cup of jello."
I smiled at his remark and he did the same when he saw I was.
I reach my hand out for the jello and I got a sharp pain in my elbow. I winced at the pain and put my arm down.
He looked very concerned.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
I nodded. "My... my joints hurt," I said.
Those were the first words I've said since the wreck.
Spencer's POV
Her first words after the crash and she was talking to me.
I don't know why but that makes me feel special.
"Did I mention that jello also has the amino acid proline to produce new cartilage for your joints?" I said smiling.
I'm not very social, at all actually, but I have never made a patient this happy before I don't think.
She let out a little giggle. It was kinda cute.
"Do you want to eat this jello?" I asked.
"Is it yours?" She asked quietly.
"Well I got it and if you didn't want it I would've eaten it. Why?" I asked.
"I don't want to eat it if you want it." She said. She is kinda adorable.
"No no it's for you," I said.
She nodded and lifted her arm up again this time very slowly.
She carefully took the cup from me and I gave her a spoon. When she took the spoon our hands brushed together and hers were cold.
"Reid we need to go. You can check up on her tomorrow." Morgan said standing at the doorway.
Morgan startled me and I stood up. "Enjoy your jello. See you tomorrow." I said.
She waved to me.
I didn't want to leave her there with her knowing there isn't anyone left for her to talk with or to laugh with.
But I did and I'm gonna regret it.
