Morgan and I slowly approached the barn that was hardly visible in the pouring rain.
Morgan kicked down the door and motioned that I take the upper level and he will go around back.
I slowly walked up the stairs one by one.
As I reached the top of the wooden staircase I heard whimpers and cries along with violent whispers.
I took a hard left and saw the the girl that matched Heathers picture holding a man with a gun to his head.
"Heather you need to put your weapon down and no one will get hurt." I said calmly.
"He needs to feel my pain!" She yelled with her teeth clenched together with rage.
"Heather what he did was wrong, your right. He deserves this, but doing this will only hurt you more. Mentally." I said pointing at my head still aiming my gun at her.
"You don't know what's best for me. I need to feel better and the only way of doing that is killing him."
BAM!!
She fell to the ground and released the man.
I had to.
If I didn't pull that trigger he would have died.
An innocent.
I froze.
I heard the rest of the team approach behind me.
I have killed people before.
But this was a girl.
A girl no older than me upset about her broken heart that could have been fixed if it had the chance.
What if she wasn't about to kill him and if I waited and negotiated she would still be alive and have a happier future?
"Hey kid are you ok?" I heard Morgan ask.
"Yeah... yeah I'm f-fine." I said rubbing my eyes.
"It was a quick death. Nice shot." He hesitated to say.
He probably wasn't sure if it would make things better or worse.
It really didn't affect me.
All I couldn't get out of my mind was if I was to early to shoot.
Kelly's POV
"Alright Garcia I will see you tomorrow." I said walking out the door.
"We will go shopping after work tomorrow!" She yelled cheerfully.
I smiled and left the building.
It is raining hard.
I don't want to take Spencer's car because I want him to have a ride back to the hotel so I called a cab.
After I got a ride to the hotel and got into a tank top and shorts.
I looked over at the side table and grabbed the book Red Badge of Courage. I opened it to the first page and attempted to read and fully understand the words the book had printed on the pages.
Spencer's POV
I shyly waved to everybody and got into my car.
Garcia told me Kelly had went to the hotel in a cab about thirty minutes ago.
I hopped in my car and drove the hotel anxious to have Kelly in my arms after this horrible night.
I thought about it the whole way there.
I was still shaking actually.
I pulled into the parking lot and got out of my car. I walked through the rain to the lobby entrance.
Before I entered I saw a girl walking down the street.
Innocent like the once one I killed today.
I killed her.
A clean shot to the head.
She could have been helped.
I noticed I was soaked and decided to go inside.
There wasn't anyone at the front desk to greet me but it's not like a greet would make my night better.
I went into the elevator and clicked 2.
I waited and when the doors opened I walked down the dimly lit halls and to mine and Kelly's room.
I stood there in front of the door still mourning about the past hour.
Kelly's POV
I saw headlights from the window and saw Spencer's car pull in below.
I heard gentle footsteps about 15 minutes later.
Then I watched the door expecting tall Spencer to appear.
But the footsteps stopped and the door didn't open.
Could have it been someone else?
I slowly approached the door and looked through the peek hole and saw Spencer.
I opened the door with confusion.
When I did I instantly knew something was wrong with him.
First of all he was soaking wet.
Second he wouldn't take his eyes off the ground.
"Spencer?" I said quietly.
He looked at me keeping his head down.
I placed my hand on the side of his face and stroked my thumb across his cheek.
Then I hugged him.
He pulled back.
"Kelly I'm all wet." He said quietly.
"I don't care." I said hugging him again.
This time he wrapped his arms around me as well.
After a good minute of hugging I took his sopping coat off. He was silent the whole time.
I decided that I will ask him what's wrong when we have time to get into deep conversation because what ever is bothering him isn't a small deal.
He sat on the bed and took his shoes off in a pouty way.
I sat next to him and gave him a pair of his pajamas.
He put them on and laid down on the bed still depressed.
I shut off the lamp and laid next to him.
"Alright Spencer what's wrong?" I asked him.
"Today... at work... I... I killed someone." He started to say.
I started to lightly drag my fingers across his arm comforting as he tells me about the horrible past few hours.
"Spencer your ok. Your with me now." I said hugging him.
He dug his head into my shoulder and I dug my fingers in his hair and massaged his scalp. Then I heard him drift off into a sleep.
Spencer's POV
I have my gun in hand ready for anything that's gonna be thrown at me.
I turn the multiple corners of what seems to be a maze.
I took a left and I was out of the maze. But standing there was Kelly. She was holding a gun to a mans head. The man was me.
There was another me. There was no expression on either of our faces.
BAM!!
I pulled the trigger.
"Ahh!" I gasped sitting up abruptly.
Kelly did the same.
"Spencer are you ok?" She said fast but tiredly.
The rain turned into the thunderstorm.
The flash of lighting lit up the room and I could see her pretty face that calmed me down.
"Yeah... just a nightmare." I said running my hand through my hair.
"Spencer you need to relax." She said.
"I can't. I can't stop thinking about it." I said.
Kelly's POV
I could see Spencer's cheek had a streak of shine from a tear.
It must have been a bad nightmare.
Then I had an idea.
"Spencer take off your shirt." I said demandingly.
"Kelly why?" He said with a smile on his face.
"Just do it. I'm gonna make you relax." I said.
He started to confusingly and slowly unbutton his shirt.
I lit a candle from the bathroom and set it on the side table.
By this time Spencer had his shirt on the ground.
I sat next to him.
"Ok lay down." I said.
He obeyed and I started to rub his chest and torso.
Whenever I would rub his sides he would smile and squirm.
I would smile back at his cuteness.
I took my hands and applied pressure from the bottom to the top of his torso.
Then I pushed my hands over to his arm and pulled on it with pressure still applied.
I grabbed and moved my hands down his whole arm.
When I got to the tips of his fingers I shook my hands.
He opened one eye.
"What are you doing?"
"I am extracting the negative energy from you." I said starting over again.
"See you start at the bottom and push all the negative energy to the top and then out to the arms." I said demonstrating on him what I just did. "Then I throw the energy."
He smiled at my theory.
"Ok now that the negative energy is gone I am going to put in positive energy. Roll over onto your stomach." I said.
He did as I said and once he was on his stomach I straddled his body.
"Ok feel free to fall asleep." I said.
I started to massage his back.
When I did he started to moan a little bit with every stroke I did.
"You know when I played volleyball and I sat on the bench with the rest of the junior varsity I would rub their backs. They all said I was good at it but I have never given someone a serious back massage." I whispered in his ear.
"Well they weren't kidding when they said you were good at it." He said his voice muffled in the pillow.
I gently laughed.
Just enough to for him to know I did.
His back was really tense, most likely from work stress.
Other than that his back was muscular.
Not like bulky muscular but he was skinny enough for his muscle to show and to feel.
I passionately rubbed his back with love and compassion.
I want him to feel the love.
I want him to feel good.
I would gradually rub up to his shoulders and neck and carefully observing what he liked best.
I could tell he liked it when I rubbed the center of the back of his neck with my thumbs or when I massaged his shoulder blade area.
Spencer's POV
After she told me to roll over she straddled my body.
She was just comfortable sitting on my butt and rubbing my back and so was I.
I was not aware that such fragile hands of hers could create so much depth and feeling that makes you want to just melt.
Her hands were piercing cold at the beginning but my warm back warmed them up I guess.
I loved it most when she would rub my shoulders and neck.
She sends tingly feelings all over my body and she does give positive energy through those gentle hands of hers.
The thought of earlier didn't completely leave my mind but I felt happy.
Then I started thinking about the positives like what if I shot just in time.
Then I pushed that out of my head and focused on the positive waves she was sending throughout my body.
After a while I can feel her getting tired.
Then she stopped and blew out the candle still straddling me.
Then she laid down on top of me and wrapped her arms around my chest.
The last thing she did before going to sleep was plant a little kiss on the back of my neck right where I liked her to massage.
