Hey Val, come over here for a second! Lucas called. His attention snapped over to us and he walked over. I want you to meet-Lucas began. Val's eyes locked on me. Jamaica. he said breathless. I tried to find the words to say. You two know each other? Lucas asked. Val nodded. We met this morning, I ran into her and spilled her coffee on the floor. he said with a chuckle. We all laughed. Jamaica is here to cover the show tonight. Lucas said. Val nodded at me. Well, I hope we don't disappoint. he said showing off his perfect smile. You care to watch us practice? Val asked. Yeah, of course. I said with a smile. Val went and grabbed a chair and put it down in the corner so I could see everything. He motioned for me to sit. I did and pulled out my camera and sketch pad. Before we start, do you need anything? Can I get you a water? Anything? Val asked. I smiled at his kindness. I'm fine, thanks though. I said with a smile. He nodded. Alright babe, you ready? he asked clapping his hands together and walking over to his partner. She nodded and they stood in front of the mirror. Val nodded to Keo and the music started. They started dancing around the room as I snapped pictures. The song ended and Val came and sat on the ground next to me. He looked up at me. So, what do you think? he asked. I nodded. You guys are amazing! I exclaimed. I got some really nice shots. I said showing him the pictures I took on the camera. He smiled. Perfect. he said. Val, I think I'm gonna head out. His partner said walking over to us. Val stood up and hugged and kissed her forehead. See you tonight. he said with a wink to her and she left. I watched as she walked out. So. Val said pulling up a chair and sitting next to me. You never told me you were covering the show tonight. he said. I shrugged. I didn't even know. I said with a laugh. My boss sent me on an assignment here and I just wanted to get out of that building. I said. Val laughed. Well, I'm glad that you're here. he said with a smile. I nodded. Me too. I said. Are you hungry? Val asked. I was just about to go pick up some food and come back. Want to join me? he asked. I would hate to be a bother. I said shaking my head. He shrugged. You're not bothering me. he said with a smile. I picked up my bag. Lead the way. I said with a smile. He grabbed his keys and opened the warehouse door. He smiled at me as he held the door open and I walked out. I waited for him when I was outside of the building. That's the one. he said pointing down the way to a black SUV. I nodded and walked towards it. I got into the car and buckled up. Val got in and did the same. He started up the car and my favorite song started playing. I smiled and started singing along. He looked over at me and smiled. Beautiful. he said. I rolled my eyes and laughed. Val laughed. I'm serious, you're good. he said. Thanks. I said with a blush forming on my cheeks. He turned his attention back to the road and pulled up to a pizzeria. I unbuckled and opened my door and got out. Val came out of the car and wrapped his arm around my shoulders and we walked into the pizzeria. While we were waiting I looked up at him with an eyebrow raised. He shrugged and I rolled my eyes. He's a ladies man.
