Backstage

I ran backstage to the DWTS studio with Val and Derek by my side. We were late. Val touched my shoulder and headed off in the direction of his dressing room. I sat down in one of the seats just as the show was starting. Everyone was down ready getting ready for the opening of the show. Derek quickly headed down the stairs and got into position. I felt someone come up behind me. I let out a shriek. I turned around to see Artem. Hey there. he said with a laugh. Artem! I exclaimed as the show got started. I stood up and hugged him. Nice to see you three could show up. he said with a laugh. I rolled my eyes as he sat down next to me and we watched the dancers. Nick and his partner were up first to dance, and I cheered and hugged Nick as he came up the stairs. That was great. I said with a smile. Thanks. he replied with a smile and went to get his scores. I sat back down next to Artem. So, I want to ask you something. he said. I looked at him. What's up Artie? I asked with a smile. He laughed at the nickname. Are you and Val together? he asked. I ran a hand through my hair. I uh..it's complicated. I replied. He nodded understandingly. Derek came up behind us and set a hand on my shoulder. What are we talking about? he asked. Val and Jamaica. Artem replied. I glared at him. Yeah, like Derek doesn't give me enough crap about it. I said with a laugh. Jamaica, you and Val have known each other for 6 months now and you two still won't admit that you two want to date. he said. I slapped him. I don't like Val. I said folding my arms. He laughed. Yeah, okay. he said. Derek, shut up. I said with a laugh. I felt nails against my cheek and I hugged out of my seat. Artem pulled me into his arms and laughed. I looked in front of me and there stood Mark. Mark, you jerk! I said punching his shoulder. He laughed. The look on your face was priceless! he said. I rolled my eyes. Don't you have some dance to do? I asked with a laugh. He laughed and pulled me from Artem's arms and hugged me. You know I love you. he said as he pulled away. I laughed. I love you too Markie, now go dance! I said pushing him towards the stairs. I sat back down and watched the dances. Mark and Alexa danced and they did AMAZING! They came up the stairs after their dance and Mark waved his claws in my face. Mark, get away from me! I said with a laugh. I pushed him towards Alexa to go get their scores. Val walked up. I'm next. he said. I stood up and hugged him. Good luck. I said with a smile. He peeked my head. See you soon. he said. He headed down the stairs and I walked up to the railing to watch their dance. Derek came up and stood next to me. Val's hair is something else. I said with a laugh as their promo cut out and they started dancing. Derek laughed. Yeah, you should see it when he wakes up in the morning. he said. I laughed and turned my attention back to their dance. Their song ended and I clapped. They did good. I said. Derek nodded. They were out of sync at times, but it was alright. he said. I sighed and watched as they walked up the stairs. I hugged Val. You did good. I whispered. I'll talk to you in a sec. he said. He followed Tamar to go get their scores. They got 24/30. Val and Tamar said one last few things and Val went back down for the opening after commercial. I cheered for them and smiled. Val came over and grabbed my hand and pulled me away from where I was talking to Derek. I'll talk to you later! I said with a laugh. Val pulled me into his dressing room and closed the door. I looked at him. Are you okay? I asked. He sat down on the couch. Val..I said walking over to him. He pulled out his phone and I saw him load Twitter @iamValC: Really need your votes tonight!!! #TeamValenTay He put his phone down and laid down on the couch. Babe. I sighed. I came and kneeled down next to him. Babe, why are you upset? I asked. He rolled over and looked at me. I'm not upset, I'm frustrated. he said. I ran a hand across his cheek. We worked hard on those dances and the judges said it was out of sync. he said as he ran a hand through his hair. I moved his head and sat down on the couch and put his head in my lap. I ran my fingers through his hair. Well, if it makes you feel any better...I started. His eyes looked up at me. I think you two did great. I said. He smiled at me. You're the best. He said grabbing one of my hands and bringing it to his lips. I smiled down at him. But seriously babe, don't beat yourself up over this; people are going to vote for you guys, and you're going to be better next week. There's always room for improvement. I said smiling. He looked up at me. I don't know how I got so lucky to know a woman like you. he said. I laughed and stroked his cheek. You know what I think would make you feel better? I asked. He looked up at me with an eyebrow raised. A massage? he asked. I rolled my eyes. You're something else, Valentin. I said with a laugh. Speaking of that, you're coming over tonight right? he asked. I rolled my eyes. Most likely. I said. But seriously, you know what I think you need? I asked. Pizza!!!! I exclaimed. Val laughed and stood up. I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the dressing room. We walked hand in hand out to staging area to see Derek and Bindi were getting ready to dance. OMG, my favs! I exclaimed and ran with Val over to the railing. Val looked at me. You and Tamar are my favs two of course. He laughed and wrapped an arm around my neck. We heard fans calling our names and we looked down and waved at them. Derek and Bindi started dancing and watched them dance. OMG THAT WAS SO GOOD! I exclaimed as I cheered. Val clapped beside me. Omfg, Derek is hotttttt. I said fanning myself. Everyone around me laughed. We listened to the judges give them critiques. Juliane said it was sexy and I cheered. Derek and Bindi came up the stairs and I hugged him. Omfg, Derek. I said fanning myself. He laughed and pecked my cheek as they went to get their score; 30/30! Ahhh! I cheered and went and hugged them both. Val came up behind us and hugged Derek and Bindi. I pulled out my phone and took a picture of Val, Derek, and I. @JamaBJamaica; Beyond proud of my boys, @iamvalc and @derekhough! They both did so good tonight, and let's not talk about how good they look 😍 Derek pecked my forehead and went and got changed for the group dance. I grabbed Val's hand and pulled him towards the catering area. Pizza boxes were on the table. Yesssss! I said opening it and seeing a veggie pizza. I grabbed two pieces and handed one to Val. I jumped on Val's back as he walked out of the room. I laughed as we walked towards the skybox. Derek was inside getting a headset on. I hopped off of Val and hugged Derek. Derekkkk. I squealed. He picked me up and spun me around. He set me back on the ground as an older woman walked up to him. Oh yeah, Jamaica; this is Mom. Mom, this is our good friend and Val's future girlfriend, Jamaica. Val and I glared at him. She shook my hand and smiled. It's so nice to finally meet you! she exclaimed. I smiled. Val and Derek talk about you all the time. I laughed. All good things, I hope. I said glaring at the boys. His mom laughed. Of course, dear. she said. I smiled. But hey, we have an interview to do; I'll see you guys in a bit. he said helping his mom to the skybox. Someone came up behind me and wrapped their arms around me. I turned around and was met by Artem. Hello you handsome devil. I said with a laugh. He laughed and followed Val and I. By the way, you did amazing with Alek; I've never seen him dance so well! I exclaimed. He smiled. It's what I do, I try my best. he said. I smiled. Well, you did an amazing job, Artie. I said. He pecked my head. Always appreciated. he said. You're going to Val and Derek's tonight right? he asked. I nodded. I'll be there. I replied. I'll be there tomorrow morning. he said. I nodded. I'll see you then. Bye handsomeeeee. I said with a laugh. He blew me a kiss. Bye beautiful. he said with a laugh. I laughed and walked with Val the staging area. The team dances were about to begin. I walked over to the railing as everyone got in their positions. The music started and #TeamNightmare started dancing. Derek came over to me. Like..I don't know if I should be scared or not. I said watching them dance. Derek laughed. They did good though! I exclaimed and clapped. I just won't eat dinner with them. I said with a laugh. Derek laughed as they all walked over to get their critiques. They came up and got their scores; 30/30! Val came over to me and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my cheek. I'm so proud of you. I said smiling looking back at him. You're the best. he said. So I keep getting told. I said with a laugh. He smiled and grabbed my hand pulling us towards the railing to watch the other team get ready. Val pulled out his phone and loaded Twitter. My phone went off signifying he was tweeting. I pulled out my phone and laughed at his tweets. You're terrible. I said lightly slapping him. He laughed and put his phone back in his pocket and wrapped an arm around me pulling me closer to him. I actually wanted to talk to you about something..I said looking at Val. He looked over at me. What's up? he asked. The music started up and I shook my head. I'll talk to you about it later. I said. Val looked at me unsure, but then just nodded. Alright, I have to admit..They're doing really good. I said with a smile. Val scratched his neck. Yeah, they are. he replied. OMG ALEXA! I exclaimed as they flipped her between the guys and girls. Everyone cheered as the dance ended. They walked over to get their critiques. They got a 28/30. They all walked down to find out the overall scores. I stood at the railing and listened. Val and Tamar are in jeopardy; BOO!!!! I yelled. Everyone looked up at me and laughed. That's my best friend! I said. We all listened to the final results. Hayes and Emma were eliminated. I hate to admit it, but I gave a sigh of relief. I cheered for them and clapped. The show ended and everyone came upstairs. I hugged Hayes. You were amazing. I said. Thank you. he said. Hey, keep in contact? I asked. He nodded and smiled. I smiled as I was pulled into a hug. Ah! I exclaimed. I looked at who it was; Val. I was so scared for a minute. I said wrapping my arms around him. I'm not going anywhere. he said pecking my forehead. He grabbed my hand and lead us towards his dressing room. He grabbed his bag and packed everything away. Shortly after, there was a knock on the door. Come in. I said. It opened to reveal Derek. You guys ready to head out? he asked. I nodded and looked at Val as he picked up his bag. Let's go. he said. My mom and sister are going to be staying the night, so Jamaica; you're rooming with Val tonight. he said. Val and I looked at each other. That's fine. I replied. I don't want any funny business either. he said as we walked out to his car. I rolled my eyes. Val spoke up. You know it's my house too, right? he asked as Derek opened the trunk and they put their stuff inside. Yes, I'm aware; but I don't want any funny business in my house; especially when my family is there. he said. I slapped him. Derek, you're disgusting! I said making a grossed out face. He laughed. I'm joking, but seriously no sex in my house. he said in a stern voice. Val glared at him. Bro, we got it. he said with a laugh. Derek nodded. Good, let's get out of here. he said getting into the car. Derek's Mom was in the passenger seat, Julianne in the middle, Val and I in the back, and Derek in the middle. Derek started driving and I let out a yawn. Val grabbed my hand and laid a kiss to the back of it. He put our hands in his lap. I laid my head on his shoulder. He wrapped an arm around me and pulled me closer to him. I slowly closed my eyes and I could feel him leaning his head on mine. Before I knew it, I was sleeping.
