Family Dinner

After rehearsal, Val and I got into the car and headed to the Restaurant we're meeting his parents for dinner at. We arrived and Val got out and opened my door for me. I smiled and got out of the car. He closed the door and grabbed my hand as we walked into the Restaurant. We walked in to see his parents seated at a table near the back. We walked over to them, sat down, and smiled. So, how was rehearsal? Papa asked. Val took a sip of his water and nodded. It was good, everything is coming along nicely. he said. He nodded. How's Derek? Mama asked. Val and I both laughed. He's as outgoing as ever. I said. His mom laughed. He's good. Val said. They both nodded. So, let's talk about the wedding. Mama said excitedly. I smiled. So, what were you two thinking for colors? she asked. Val looked at me. I was thinking traditional; black and white. I said. His parents nodded. And I would absolutely love your help picking out a dress. I said smiling at Mama. She smiled back. Pops, we're on tux duty. Val said looking at him. We all laughed. What about location? Papa asked. Val and I looked at each other. Most likely LA. he said. They nodded. How many people attending? Mama asked. Val and I looked at each other. I shrugged. 200? he asked. We nodded. Sounds about right. I said. Who's going to be in the wedding? Mama asked. Flower girl I wanted to be Noelle. I said. Val nodded agreeing with me. Maid of honor, I was thinking Peta. I said. And best man of course will be Maks. Val said. We all nodded. Bridesmaids I haven't really given much thought..I said. Val spoke up. Groomsmen I want Derek and Alex at least. he said. I nodded. Are you guys getting a wedding photographer? she asked. Val nodded. Well, of course. We need to capture every moment. he said. You know this girl. he said nudging me. I rolled my eyes as his parents laughed. Derek is actually interested in taking a few pictures while we're on tour for the wedding. I said. Mama nodded. That would be great! she exclaimed. I smiled. We all nodded as our food arrived. We thanked the waiter and joined hands. Papa said the prayer and we all started to enjoy our food.
