It's a month after Eddie dies, Chris is settling In nicely. Carla is in Hawaii and she found a place not too far from the Mcgarrett home. Evie's almost 8 months pregnant.
It's a rare evening that they are just cuddled up on the couch as Chris does his homework in his room. They are dinner and now just cuddling when Steve's phone rings.
“Mcgarrett” he says.
“Steve, it's Catherine. I'm outside, can I come in?” Catherine Rollins asks.
“Umm sure.” Steve says then the line goes dead.
“Who was that?” Evie asks.
“Catherine.” Steve says as Evies body tenses up.
“Why?” Evie asks as there is a knock on the door.
“I don't know, she said she was outside.” Steve says as he opens the door.
“Steve.” Catherine says
“Rollins.” Steve says cooly and Catherine spots Evie off to the side, arms crossed over her chest her belly promant as she's in Steve's t-shirt and
A pair of yoga pants.
“Oh.” Catherine says.
“Rollins your member Evie, my fiance.” Steve says.
“Your engaged?” Catherine says with a hint of hurt in her voice.
And Evie knows about the time the two spent together while she was in LA, does it hurt that the love of her life went with her arch nemesis sure but Catherine and Evie has always been at odds. Whether you want to blame in on their mutual love for Steve or the fact that they were two Navy officers fighting for dominance in a man's world. The bottom line is Evie can't stand Catherine Rollins and the feelings are mutual. But at least Catherine can see Steve's happy and that he's finally getting what he wanted and deserved. Yes she loved him but she knew he didn't feel the same. As Evie will always have his heart. She knows that she put her career first, but she honestly thought he'd never end up with Evie again. But how naive was she? When you have that special of a bond as those to have you don't just lose it or forget about it. You fight for it. And Catherine knows Steve will always fight for his Ohanna and the ones he loves. She just wishes she was that to him.
“What do you need rollins.' Evie asks coldly.
“I came to talk to steve.' Catherine snaps.
“Whatever you have to say to me you can say in front of Evie. And keep your voice down, Chris is upstairs!” Steve growls and that takes Catherine by surprise.
“Who's Chris?” Catherine asks
“Our nine year old son.” Steve says.
They see the shock on Rollins face and Evie has a moment to feel sorry for her so she explains.
“He was the son of a good friend of mine. His father died recently and his mother died years ago so he was left to me. Steve and I adopted him.” Evie explains
“So your gonna have two kids now?” Catherine asks nodding towards Evie's stomach.
“Three actually, angels pregnant with twin girls.” Steve says coming to stand by Evie and wrap a protective arm around her.
“So Rollins what do you need?” Steve asks..
“Umm, well it's Doris.” Catherine says and Evie signs as Steve rubs a hand over his face.
“What she do now?” Steve asks.
“She umm tried to break out Wo fats father something about a duty to him now that her son killed his son.” Catherine says.
