A few months went by and the family back in Coral Falls were happier than ever. Ariel is done with her school year and she has been making her way to the library. The library was in a small plaza downtown, it wasn't far from her house, she she walked there.
Life has been so much happier and better ever since her father has reunited with them. He caught up with them, telling them stories as to what happened to him, of course not in detail.
He promised them that he was going to make up for the time they all missed together. She's just happy that she's with her dad.
She walked into the library and heard the bell on the door, indicating that she had entered the store.
She looked around and saw it was almost if not, already empty. It was a weekday though.
She saw a lady, looking about in her mid 40s, working by the desk. She ad these big glasses on her face and she was doing some paper work.
"Hello, welcome. Are you looking for a book in particular?" The librarian asked.
"Oh I'm just looking around, that's all." Ariel answered.
"Well if you have any questions, let me know. I'll be right here." She said wit a warming smile. Ariel caught on her smile. It looked familiar.
She looks like Samantha, but older. She thought.
She thought it was nothing and she walked in between the shelves. From horror books to fantasy, she was in awe. She was skimming through the spines of the books until her eyes spotted a book that looked pretty thick. It was purple and had gold letters on it. She pulled out the book from the shelf and read the title: Mystic Legacy: The Tales of Magic.
"I'm shocked that you picked that book out." The librarian stood behind Ariel and saw her pulled the book out.
Ariel, a little startled, turned around and faced the woman.
"Oh, how come?" Ariel hesitantly asked.
"It's a spell book. People see that book and want nothing to do with it." The woman said softly.
"Well, the book looked interesting. Is it ok if I can borrow it?" Ariel held the book to her chest.
"Of course. If you want, you can actually keep it." The woman insisted.
"No, I can't. It belongs to you. I can pay for it. How much would you charge it for?"
The woman let out a small laugh and held Ariel's hand.
"I don't need your money. That book was calling to you for a reason, trust me." The woman looked at Ariel's eyes intensely.
For some reason, Ariel understood what the woman meant, and she didn't have to argue. She thanked the woman and walked out the book store.
The woman walked up to the window and watched Ariel walk away with the book.
"That has to be her daughter, she looks just like her." The woman said to herself before walking back to her desk.
Back home, Ariel was in her room. The dark purple spell book laying down on her bedroom floor. Ariel was staring at it.
Should I open it? She thought to herself. I mean, what could go wrong? It's just an old book.
She finally opened the book and a gold, bright light was coming out of the book.
She moved her hand away from her eyes once the bright light was dimming down and not blinding her sight. She then saw a name that was written in this metallic gold letters that looked similar to the letters on the cover of the book.
But the name obviously didn't belong to the woman in the library.
Ariel was in shock, she couldn't believe who this book used to belong to.
One word, hesitant, she said to herself...
"Mom...?"
