Ariel's POV
"Guys dinner's ready!" Sam called from the kitchen as we all gathered at the dining room table to eat what she prepared."What's on the menu?" Fiona asked as she sat down on her seat.
"Loaded baked potato casserole with some poultry of course." She brought out a tray of some kind of bird to the center of the table.
"Is that chicken?" I asked.
"It's duck." Manny said as he drinks his wine.
"You never had it? It's really good. It tastes just like chicken. Try it." Sam carves the bird and serves it on my plate.
I took a bite, expecting the worse but turns out, duck isn't that bad.
"Holy smokes this is actually very good. You seasoned this well too." I complimented on her cooking as she thanked me.
"What would you like to drink since you can't have wine?" She asked as she takes another bite.
"Apple juice is fine." I requested as Sam stood up and pulled her wand from her boot.
She said some spell to my empty glass out of nowhere, my cup is filled with apple juice.
I sat there in amazement as I drank my beverage.
"You like it here don't you?" Fiona asked me.
"I do actually, I got a chance to talk to you guys while Sam was cooking and not going to lie, I feel accepted here. However, I do miss my sisters back home." I looked down at my plate, thinking about what would Lisa and Lora would say if I haven't gone home yet.
"You'll be home soon don't worry, if you don't mind, stay for a bit." Sam insisted.
I smiled in approval and we all sat in silence as we ate, until the front door slammed open.
I jointed up as I saw that it was Jess walking into the kitchen.
"Jess where have you been?" Sam asked, worried since Jess had a very unsettling look on her face.
She opened a cupboard and pulled out a small box with medication.
"Whoa whoa whoa what are you doing?" Sam got up and tried to stop her, but Jess just pushed her away.
"No, stay away from me. Can't you see that I'm having a big fat panic attack?" She took two into her mouth and chugged it down with an opened wine bottle that was nearby.
"Aren't you not supposed to take your medication with alcohol?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Shut up, I don't care. You're not my mom." Jess hissed at me and I sat there, quiet and embarrassed. Fiona, who was sitting next to me, grabbed my shoulder and gave me the ignore her look.
Jess' POV
"Jess what's going on? You haven't had a panic attack in months. And where have you been?" Sam placed her hand on the counter and I slammed her fist against the surface."Oh my lord, stop asking so many questions!" I screamed at her. She just looked at me and her eyes looked like she was about to tear up.
"Oh hell no don't cry please it's not making me feel be-" I begged as she slapped me right in the face.
"I hope you know I care about you when no one else did, you know that? You ungrateful bitch!" I hold my face, still in shock that she slapped me, with my jaw dropped to the floor.
"Why are you like this? No one told you to be like this." Tears streaming down her face as I felt guilty for putting my frustration on her. I pulled her away from everyone so that no one hears the next words that came out of my mouth.
