"Guys, did you hear something? Like a commotion upstairs?" Fiona asked as she drank her tea.
"Yeah I thought so too. It sounded like it came from Jess' room." Stella was worried as to what could've happened.
"I'm sure she's fine, she has her little episodes here and there." Manuel was sharpening the blade of his axe.
Ariel sat right next to Fiona and curled her bare feet on the couch. She laid her head on the couch and continued to listen to the conversation.
Then, for a split second, the power went out.
"God fucking damn it." Manny cussed under his breath. He got up and walked outside to check the power box that was just in the backyard.
He opened it, only to find nothing being touched.
"What? I don't understand. Everything looks fine." He whispered to himself, confused as to how the whole house was in blackout.
"Manny, is everything alright?" Fiona walked out to check up on Manny, along with Stella and Ariel.
"I don't know, I don't see anything wrong with the switches. Nothing was touched." He paused and turned to the three girls.
"Someone or something is messing with us."
A shiver went down on Ariel's spine hearing those words.
Was someone really pulling some sort of sick prank on us?
She thought. The silence was then disturbed by a scream, but not from some random person, it was coming from inside the house. It was Timothy.
The group ran back inside, and up the stairs to Timothy's room. Manny busted the door open, finding only Timmy in the room.
"Bro what the fuck is going on?"
"It was Jess, she attacked me!" He started trembling with fear.
"Well, where is she? I don't see her in here." Manny crossed his arms, waiting for an explanation.
"I swear she was here just a second ago!"
Fiona walked up to his bed and sat next to him.
"Hey, it's ok. I'm sure Manny can handle it." She started to calm him.
"What's happening? What's wrong?" Benny came in running, asking what was all the commotion about.
"Apparently, Jess attacked Tim." Manny explained.
"That's weird, my bedroom door is open and her room is across from mine, I saw no one coming out of there. However, I did hear something going on in there, like she's fighting with someone."
Everyone stayed silent and looked at each other. Manny walked out of the room, down the hallway, and stood in front of Jess' door.
He pressed his ear against the door and chills went all over his skin.
All he could hear was breathing.
He took a step back and balled his fists.
"Fiona, hand me my battle axe." He demanded in a low, firm voice. Fiona quickly fetched his axe and put it down in front of him.
"You're not going to hurt her right?" Ariel asked, her arm wrapped around Stella's.
"No, I'm not. However, my instincts is telling me that something is not right. Something is on the other side of this door." He grabbed his axe, raised it over his head, and broke down the door.
