It was 9 in the morning of Wednesday when I received a message from Ray, asking me where I am. As if he still cares? He's already busy with Tienn.
"Are you sure you can stay here alone, Jhie?" I rolled my eyes when Mom asked that.
"Mom I'm not a kid anymore."
"Oo pero may sakit ka, Jhiezzel. That's different." Hindi ko na siya sinagot at nagtalukbong na lamang ng kumot.
I felt myself dozing off again.
"Ate Gara, are you sure I've put enough sinigang mix?" I woke up to a loud voice coming from downstairs.
I then heard low voices after that which I cannot comprehend as I am at my room. I looked at my door and it's open. That's why I can somehow hear them.
Nahihilo pa ako nang tumayo ako't sinubukang bumaba.
"Jhiezzeeeel!" Napapikit ako sa napakatinis na boses ni Violett.
"Vy, shut up. My head is aching." Napahawak ako sa ulo kong literal na pumintig.
"Jhie, sit down and eat. We bought you some medicine." Natahimik ako nang marinig si Magenta. Narito pala siya.
I saw Violett tucking her lips in, suppresing her laugh. Pinandilatan ko siya ng mata.
"Magen, bakit kayo nandito?" I asked. Tinaasan ako nito ng kilay.
"Bakit? Are we not allowed here?" Napakadaya talaga ng babaeng ito. Tinatalo ang katarayan ko kapag ako ang kausap, hindi naman siya ganiyan sa iba naming kaibigan.
Ilang taon naman na ang nakalipas when I accidentally kissed her nang malasing ako pero parang ang laki pa rin ng galit niya sa akin.
"Nagtatanong lang naman ako." Bulong ko kay Violett na ikinatawa nito.
"Your Mom texted me saying wala ka raw kasama rito and that you're not feeling well." Violett said.
"Wala kayong pasok?" I asked.
"Meron pero mas importante ka." Nahampas ko siya sa sinabi niya.
"Ginawa mo pa kong dahilan, tinatamad ka lang namang pumasok." I said. Kinindatan pa ako nito na tila ba proud siya sa ginawa niya.
"Jhie, are you coming to the Mayor's party?" Violett asked.
"Why are you even asking her? Syempre hihigitin nanaman siya ni Lady Rhianne at wala siyang magagawa." I rolled my eyes when Magenta said that because she's right.
"Why does she even get involved with political people? May balak bang tumakbo si Lady Rhianne?" I asked.
"Nah, it's more of a 'business connection,' rather than politics. I heard that the Mayor's planning to invest in the Rianzares' and so Lady Rhianne's kinda obliged to attend the party." Violett said.
"Ano bang mayroon? Birthday ni Mayor?"
"Birthday ng anak niya." Magenta said. Hindi na ako nagsalita pa. Pinaplano ko na lamang ulit kung paano makakatakas kay Lady Rhianne dahil ayaw kong umattend roon.
"That'll be on weekends. We'll be looking for outfits. Lady Rhianne asked us to bring you with us." Napairap ako sa sinabi ni Magenta.
"You're not here because I'm sick, you're here to drag me there."
"Partly." Magenta didn't even blink. Kainis.
"Jhiezzel!" I looked at the one who called. Rendon.
"Why are you all at my house?" Nakakunot noong tanong ko.
"We heard you're sick." Uriel said, putting down some paperbags na agad ko namang tiningnan.
"You heard I'm sick and you all did not attend your classes, and went here with lots of food. Wow? Are you trying to kill me?"
