I sat next to the Carmelo Anthony with my head down. I had been texting and calling Laila all night and she hadn't been responding. I checked her location and it was stuck at her mom's house which didn't make sense because she was supposed to be at Ken's dinner.

I was trying to stay engaged in the conversation with him but my stomach felt weird. I was worried about my girl and couldn't focus on nothing he was saying. I looked up and noticed that he was still talking to me about his draft process. I didn't want to be rude so I listened to what he had to say.

"Do you know what team you interested in right now?" He questioned looking over at me, I shrugged. I didn't really know what team I wanted to play for but I knew I didn't want to be too far from home. My top two was very far from where I lived but they were paying me good ass money. Thankfully, the camera wasn't rolling so I was able to explain my thought process to him.

"I wanted to move up here and play for the Nicks but the Celtics and the Timberwolves been coming after me hard lately. I'm conflicted on what I wanna do." I expressed rubbing my hand together.

"The Celtics going after a lot of draft prospects. I know they coming after that young nigga in Memphis hella hard. I had him on my show a few days ago." He said, I nodded my head in agreement.

"You talking bout Daleel?" I asked, he nodded.

"I think y'all the main two niggas coming out the draft that I been watching for a lil minute now. Y'all gonna bring a different feel to the game. Especially, him with the defense and you with the scoring." He said nodding his head making me smile.

"Yeah, that nigga Dee goes crazy with the defense. I feel like he can score against anybody. I don't even wanna be on separate teams. We gotta get drafted to the same team." I said shaking my head with a small laugh. I met Dee in middle school when we played together in a AAU camp in Texas. The nigga been playing crazy ever since I met him.

My manager walked over towards us and motioned for me to come to him. I looked at Carmelo and back at him before shaking my head. I could tell that something was wrong but he didn't wanna make it seem like it in front of these people. We had just finished filming the podcast and we were just talking and getting to know each other more.

He said that I could go with him for the rest of the night. I guess he had his son's basketball game to go watch and he invited me to come watch it. I agreed. I didn't mind building a connection with him especially since I'm finna be a rookie in the league in a few months. I wanted to have a good reputation.

Especially since I didn't have one back home.

"Hold on." I said getting up from my seat. I walked over to my manager and he pulled away from the set. I walked towards the bathroom area and folded my arms nervous of what I was going to hear. I knew it had something to do with my mom. She always tripping at night now and I always had to go over there and get her to relax.

In this case, I wouldn't be able to because I was in New York. It would be a while before I get back to Baltimore and I told Duke that. He asked me if I told Laila like nigga I already checked in with her. I check in with her. We healthy now.

"Laila had a miscarriage." He said.

I walked out the door and made my way to the car. I had to get home and see what was going on. They ordered me a black truck for the night but since I'm not going I'm just going to go back to Baltimore. My manager and Agent ran behind me as I approached the truck. I needed to get back home.
