More Than That
But on the fourth day nagising din siya.
Thank God. We were so happy and relieved when he woke up. He stayed on ICU for another 2 days before he was transferred to his private room.
I was so restless the whole time.
My uncles and aunties came to visit him. They flew from Davao right away. Lolo can't make it due to his health conditions. But he kept on monitoring my dad from time to time.
Dumating ang mga kaibigan ko the next day dad was admitted. Jake visits everyday. He was there kahit wala naman siyang ginagawa.
Kanina lang ako nakapasok ulit after a week of being absent. Hindi ako maka-concentrate sa school knowing that my dad is lying in the hospital fighting for his life. Casey always send her notes at the end of a school day para daw makahabol ako.
They planned to stay longer since bakasyon na raw sina Aika.
Busy iyon. Kailangan niyang mag-review."
"Sayang, di ko siya makikita ngayon." Lumungkot talaga ang kanyang face.
Naku!
May kaagaw pa yata ako.
"Raine, hinahanap ka ng Mommy mo." Lumapit sa amin si Tita Adora.
As I was told, I went inside the room.
My dad's still asleep. According to his doctors, he is getting better. He got a mild stroke.
"Mom." I called her. She was standing by the window looking outside,
She turned around and gestured for us to sit at the sofa.
Don't tell me you have another bad news."
We were seated.
She smiled.
Medyo nakampante ako kasi ngumiti siya. Pag sobrang seryoso kati di talaga siya ngumingiti. At least, the news may not be that bad.
"Not in my company... Your Dad's company." Tumingin siya kay Daddy.
"Sa office ni Dad? But why?"
"Okay Mom. Hindi po ako papasok ulit."
"No. I don't want you to be absent again.
