Chapter XIX

Mr. Stealer

Lutang ang isip ko sa klase. Di talaga ako makapag-concentrate. After what happened sa Christmas ball last Saturday, hindi pa rin ako maka-getover sa nangyari. I planned to tell Casey that mystery guy today. Maybe, ask for help if possible.

"Lorraine, dont tell me you forgot the difference between a trial balance and an income statement?" Mataray na tanong ni Mrs. Perez. Iyong teacher namin sa accounting.

Oh no!

As I look on the whiteboard, trial balance ang ginawa ko instead of the income statement. Dalawa kami ni Jobel na nagso-solve sa magkabilang side ng board. When I glanced upon her solution, she made the correct one and I am struggling to deliver the answer on this problem. Kaya pala... Mali ang approach ko.

"My apology Mrs. Perez. I misread the instruction."

Nailing na lang si Ma'am. "Sit down Ms. Consunji. Any volunteer?"

"Mr. Concepcion. Solve the problem on the board."

I'm so disappointed with my answer. Ang yabang pa ni Jobel when I throw a glance on her again at nagtama pa iyong mga mata namin.

Jake grabbed the whiteboard marker on my hand, went to the board and erased my solution. Ako naman naupo na lang sa tabi ni Casey at pinanood si Jake sa pagsasagot ng problem.

"Okay ka lang Raine?" I heard Casey asked me. But I did not reply. "Kanina ko pa napapansin na tuliro ka. May problema ba?"

I looked at her. "Later Case. I'll tell you everything."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ng tsismosa kong bff. I'm sure kung anu-ano na naman ang naglalaro sa isip niya.

As soon as Mrs. Perez said class dismissed, Casey grabbed my hand and lead me outside the room. We went straight to the rooftop. Our favorite hiding place in this building.

"Spill it." She's sitting on the bench. Samantalang ako, nakatayo at di malaman kung paano sisimulan ang kwento.

"Ano na?" Inip na siya.

"Okay, okay." Tumabi na ako sa kanya.

"Somebody ....stole my first kiss last ball."

"And who is this guy?" Parang wala lang sa kanya ang sinabi ko.

"That's the big problem Case. I don't know him." I clearly saw how big Casey's eyes after I finished that sentence.

"What! How did it happen?"

"Noong time na busy kayong lahat sa pagsasayaw. lumapit siya sa kin at inaya niya ako. I refused pa nga pero hinila niya iyong kamay ko. I don't know kung anong meron siya pero feeling ko na-hypnotize niya ako kasi nagpatangay na lang ako nang tinitigan niya ako."

"Didn't you bother to ask his name?"

"He's not talking. I thought pipi siya. But when I asked him if he is from this school, tumango siya."

"And then?"

"And then he looked at me while were dancing. May narinig akong binulong niya about not being sorry. Next thing I knew he is kissing me."

"Did you close your eyes?" Tudyo ni Case. I know what she's implying.

"I'm not sure... Pero ang bilis kasi. Naman Casey! Nang matauhan ako naka-alis na siya. Saka pa nga lang nag-sink sa utak ko na hindi siya pipi kasi may ibinulong siya."

"Hinabol mo ba?"

"I tried. Pero hindi ko na siya nakita."

"Baka naman si Michael iyon."
