Breaking free

Amy's heart started pounding out of her chest. She was just kissed by the one person she'd least expect. "W-why?" She needed to know. This was extremely important to her.

Sonic chuckled at her reaction. She looked too cute when she blushed. He was going to answer her but then they heard footsteps approaching their cell. It was Scourge.

He walked up to the cage chuckling, "heh heh well isn't this adorable. Wow Sonic, and to think I thought you'd be a pussy and not confess your love sooner." Sonic stood in front of Amy and put his hand in front of her.

"What do you want you worthless shit?!" Sonic said getting pissed. Again Scourge only chuckled but then responded,"temper temper. Anyway Eggface wants you to eat so take it. Or don't. Personally I'd rather watch you starve." He then slid the tray of food under the bars.

The tray had two chili dogs and two juice packet things (it's like the kool aid packets. Do not judge me 😭). He also slid two water bottles in there as well. Sonic and Amy looked at the food and drinks, then Sonic kicked them back to the other side of the gate.

Him and Scourge just gave each death stares. They growled at each other and then Scourge went back upstairs. Sonic turned to look at Amy, who had a terrified expression on her face.

"Amy we need to get out of here." "How? I'm sure you noticed the door being locked." Sonic frowned, "no Amy. I'm not aware of the locked door in which we tried opening several times but failed." Amy stuck her tongue out at him, which him laugh.

"Anyway I'm gonna use the wrist communicator to see if I can get the gang to rescue us." He lifted the watch to his face and pressed the button to speak,"Tails? *static* Knuckles? *static*Guys?!*static*Anyone?!!" It didn't work, he couldn't hear anyone and they probably didn't hear him.

Amy sighed and closed her eyes, "Sonic it's probably not gonna work because we're underground. Not only that we're also under Eggman's lair, so he probably cut off the communication lines." Sonic only got frustrated and punch the wall, "well we can't sit on our asses and rot. There has to be something we can do!" Suddenly an idea came to him. "I know what we can do." Sonic lifted his head and smiled an evil smile. He walked over to Amy and told her the plan. They begin their plan tomorrow.

~the next day~

Eggman walked down the stair to serve the hedgehogs their food. As he walked to the filthy prison, he realized they weren't in plan view. 'Oh for chaos sakes' he thought to himself. He started banging on the door,"Hey!! Wake up you rats!!" He looked at the beds and saw they weren't there.

He started getting confused and opened the door. He looked around then stepped inside. As soon as he stepped inside a hammer was smashed on the back of his head, knocking him to the ground unconscious.

Sonic jumped down from the ceiling of the cell. He was hiding on top of the bars that connected to the ceiling and the cell door. He walked over to Eggman and poked him,"nice job Ames. I don't think he'll be waking up anytime soon." Amy started giggling.

"Come on Amy let's get out of here." She nodded and they started walking. Once they reached the stairs, a voice started to fill their ears. '*sniff* and then there was the time when I made you that chili dog and you got diarrhea and I said I didn't mean too but I was lying.' It was Sonia. She was crying on the communicator.

Sonic's eyes widened, "Sonia? Sonia!!" She didn't hear him because she kept talking. '*sniff* and...and you remember when you couldn't find your naked baby photos,*sniff* yea I made copies and gave them to Amy.' He started blushing,"What?!" He turned and looked at Amy, who was blushing and smiling,"oh yeah I remember those." Sonic rolled his eyes,"we'll talk about that later."

They took a step forward while Sonia kept talking. 'You know I-I-I just want you to know I l-love you bro. And I don't want you to die cause you....yo-' "Sonia!!" 'Sonic?! Is it really you?' "Yes it is and we are soooo talking when I get back. Anyway we need you and tails to come with the X-tornado." 'Yea yea, roger that. And sonic? I'm glad your back.' "Yea but quick question how long were you talking?" Silence. 'That doesn't matter!! I'll get tails and we'll pick you guys up.' "Alright thanks sis."

He turned to Amy and picked her up bridal style,"I want you close to me. Something doesn't feel-" Amy put her finger on his lips,"don't say that cause every time someone says that something bad happens." Sonic rolled his eyes and ran to the main part of the lair.

He saw the exit and looked around. Sonic was surely right something wasn't right. He just shook it off and ran to the exit. Just as he got close, Scourge slowly stood in front of it with crossed arms. Scourge lifted his head to look at Sonic and smirk.

"I'm not even gonna say what I'm thinking right now. You honestly thought you'd be leaving that easy, right? Wrong. There is no way in hell I'm letting you leave alive." Sonic put Amy down and stood in front of her defensively,"Dude this girl is none of my concern. You my dear friend are my ticket to getting my revenge. And you know every good ticket needs to get punched!" Scourge then threw himself towards Sonic getting ready to punch him but sonic dodged it.

Sonic's communicator then went off, 'Sonic we're outside!' Yelled Tails. Sonic didn't say anything and just grabbed Amy and ran outside. He saw the tornado with Tails and Knuckles inside, Sonia and Manic on the right wing, and Shadow on the left. Sonic jumped on the left wing with Amy and had a determined expression.

"Alright, let's get out of here!" Tails said starting the plane. Sonic gave Amy to Shadow and jumped off the plane. "Sonic what are you doing? Let's go." "I can't Amy. If I just go then Scourge will just come after us again and it could worse than before. We got out this time but we may not get that chance again." "So, what you're just gonna go in there? He's not gonna give up that easy. He'll kill you!!!" "I'll be fine. Tails, get everybody ou-" Tails stopped him, "no!! If I'm getting everyone out of here, then you're coming with us!" "Tails there's no time for this get out of here, NOW!!"

Shadow chimed in, "Tails there's no point he's not coming with us, let's go." He turned to Sonic,"don't you dare die out there or I will find your corpse and beat the crap out it." Sonic smirked and chuckled,"heh what, so you can have an easy fight? Now go! Make sure Amy doesn't come for me." he looked at Amy and smiled, "don't worry, I'm not ready to die just yet. There's still things I haven't done yet." He winked and Amy blushed but started crying.

Sonic looked at Tails and gave him a signal to fly. He obeyed and had the plane flying off the base. Amy remained staring at Sonic with tears. 'Don't worry Amy, I promise I won't let you down.......not again.' He thought to himself as he turned back to base and ran inside. And thus the battle began.
