~the Hemlock forest~

We're with the Sonic gang in the middle of a destroyed Hemlock forest. They search around the area for clues of who caused this as they wait for Sonic and Amy's arrival. "I can't believe this. Who could've caused this much destruction?" Silver said with folded arms. "I'm telling you guys it has to be Eggman. I mean seriously when has it not been Eggman?" Knuckles said while lifting a fallen tree and checking underneath.

Soon enough, a whirling sound made its way in everyone's ears. It was Tails spinning his two tails. "Well guys we can rule Eggman out." Tails said while landing on the ground. "His base is destroyed and there's no sign of Eggman. Not even Orbot or Cubot." "Sounds like he relocated. Look dudes I'm with Knuckles. We can't excluded him from this. Have you forgotten he's a villain?" Manic said while twirling his drumsticks.

"Manic's right you guys. The fact that he's not in his base proves he might have a hand in this." Blaze said. They all started thinking to theirselves until Silver called for their attention. "Guys, look what I found!" They rushed over to Silver who used telekinesis to lift a tree that was covering a pendant. The pendant was iron medal painted in red, in the shape of claw marks with a circle around.

Cream looked at it in amazement, "what is it?" "It looks like some sort of pendant. The real question is what could it mean?" Sonia said. "It's a symbol." The gang turned their heads to see Amy standing in front of them with her hammer and Sonic rubbing his head.

"It's about time you got here." Shadow said with a smirk. "What happened to him?" "He called me fat!" They snapped their heads towards him as he put his hands up defensively, "I did not call you fat, I simply said you were slightly heavier." The girls surrounded him and kicked him to the ground while the boys started laughing their heads off.

"Alright alright, I'm sorry." The girls stopped kicking him and Sonic stood up and dusted himself off. He looked around at the destroyed forest, "what happened here?" Sonia made a straight face, "well before you came Shadow and Knuckles were playing patty cake and things went out of hand. What do you think?" "Nice sarcasm. Anyway what I meant was, who did this?" Amy walked towards the pendant and picked it up and examined it.

"Amy, you know what that is, don't you? You said earlier it was a symbol. What kind of symbol?" Tails said as everyone looked at Amy. Amy turned around to the group, "This symbol represents the lava claw clan. Their one of the most vicious and ruthless animals ever. Looking at the fallen trees, claw marks and footprints on the ground, and hold on..." Amy looks around. She points to the tree that once covered the pendant, "Silver can lift this tree up for me?" "Sure thing." He balls up his fists and lifts up the tree. "Can you turn it around a little?" He nods and turns the tree slightly.

Amy points at the mark on the tree, "There! You guys see it?" Sonic walked up to it, "this mark it looks like..." "...The pendant." Tails finished. Sonic touched it and immediately moved his finger. "That thing is burning hot!" "You didn't notice the glowing red light coming from the symbol? Anyway we need to learn more about this, let's go back to my house and I'll pull out some info on them." "You heard her, let's go!" Sonic said as they raced off to Amy's house.

~Amy's house~

Amy paced towards her shelf and pulled out a large brown book. She walked towards her desk and opened the book. She flipped a few pages and stopped on the page she was looking for. "Okay, so I was right that symbol is for the lava claw clan. According to the book, the clan was around for years. More specifically two thousand years. The species of the lava clan consist of hellhounds and Fire pups. The fire pups are no mere threat compared to hellhounds but they do bring trouble with their flames. Not a lot is known about them but the book show's different stages. Stage 1- destruction. They destroy forests and leave signs on trees. No harm to any bystander. Stage 2- chaos. They send the fire pups into the villages nearby to wreak terror. Some casualties may occur on villagers. Stage 3- control. This stage is varied since people try to defy their orders but if not then they overthrow the town and yeah you guessed it, they take control. And once all stages are completed even though stage 3 is determinant, they still move on to the final stage which is..."

"Death." The group turned to Sonic who had a deep expression and folded arms. He pondered that thought in his mind, "it's death, isn't it?" "...." "I knew it. These hellhounds aren't just some regular thugs or even Eggman for that matter. They're a group of mass destruction who's just waiting to take over. Sonia you said you were attacked by coyotes?" "Yeah." "Did they attack you first or did you?"

"Well they didn't technically start the attack but we only attacked because they were harassing the islanders." Knuckles said. "Okay, well my guess is they come here for a fight. They came to get a look at the village. Those coyotes must work with the lava claw clan." Sonic sighed and leaned on the wall. Blaze turned and looked at him, "but I thought Amy said the clan only had Hellhounds." "Well they may not be in the clan but they might be working for them. You know just temporarily." Amy said. "Well whatever the case is, we have a new threat and what we saw in the forest was just stage 1. Who knows when stage 2 will happen. Just be prepared for anything guys."

Suddenly a loud boom went off and screaming was soon heard. Silver turned to Sonic and frowned, "you just couldn't keep your mouth closed. YOU JUST HAD TO SAY SOMETHING!" Sonic chuckled, "yeah uh can we worry about that later. We have to go." They zoomed out of the house and ran to stage 2.
