Distracted was what Jongin was for the next few days. He didn't see the no-name guy at school or at the restaurant those days, so now he was thinking he should stop making assumptions period. He kept thinking that he was being too obvious by staring so rudely or maybe that Chanyeol said something to him or that he tried to say something to him the first time he saw him, but he just never heard him. Jongin was frustrated; he didn't even get a chance to learn his name and he felt like he had already blown it.

It was well into the five o'clock hour and Jongin was nearly done with his shift. Chanyeol, who had "secret plans," agreed to take the night shift since he came into work later than he usually did. What those secret plans were, Jongin had no idea, but he had a feeling that it wouldn't be in his best interest to want to know.

"What's wrong?" Chanyeol asked once he returned from the bathroom, finishing off his uniform with his apron. He looked out to where Jongin's eyes were and saw the table where the guy he had pointed out yesterday had sat, chuckling a little. "No luck with your lover?"

"Would I be sitting here staring if there was?" Jongin replied before finally peeling his eyes away and sighing heavily. "Never in my life has someone made me this crazy and I can't even go ask what his name is. God, I'm so pathetic."

"Hey, now," Chanyeol said, elongating his voice slightly. "Only I have permission to insult you, no one else and that includes you. Jongin, you are young, smart, talented, attractive. Why are you acting like you couldn't have anyone you wanted? The next time you see him, just ask him out."

"That's the problem...I don't know how," Jongin said with squinted eyes. "I mean, how can you just walk up to a person like that and talk to them?"

"Oh, Lord have mercy on his pathetic soul," Chanyeol said, temporarily looking up to the sky. He stepped in front of Jongin, blocking his view of the beautiful stranger's table and slapped him right across the face.

"Ow!" Jongin yelped, holding his hand against the victimized area. "What was that for?"

"For being an idiot!" Chanyeol said. "Why are you like this now? You have never been this shy around someone you thought was attractive, so why him?" Jongin rubbed his cheek a bit more before taking his hand away and sighing, the bright red mark now showing.

"I don't know," he said, looking up at Chanyeol.

"Well, I don't know either, but do you see me moping around like a lump on a log? No."

Jongin rolled his eyes. "Well, of course, I don't," he said. "You're not the one who's conflicted here. Besides, you saw how well my last relationship went. She ended up cheating on me, so maybe I'm just scared of getting hurt again."

"Well, guys can cheat, too," Chanyeol said. "I mean, look at me. You know how many girls have dumped me because I was flirting with someone else. Cheating works both ways."

"Which just goes to prove that being bisexual in a world full of cheaters sucks," Jongin said.

"Look," Chanyeol said as he let out a quick gust of air and forced Jongin on his feet. "Are you proud to be who you are?"

"What?" Jongin asked with a scrunched-up and perplexed face.

"I said, are you proud to be you?" Chanyeol repeated. "Are you proud to be Kim Jongin?"

"I guess so..."

"No, that is not a proper answer!" Chanyeol said, slapping him once again.

"Would you stop hitting me?" Jongin said as he rubbed his other cheek.

"Then answer properly!" Chanyeol said. "Are you proud to be you? Yes or no?"
