Kyungsoo's hands were sweating and quivering as he packed his things. Of course, he agreed to go and meet Jongin's parents; he didn't want to make him feel insulted by saying no. Jongin told him plenty of times that his parents were some of the most accepting people on the planet, but he was still nervous because he didn't know if their acceptance would extend to people who have no sense of hearing. Plus, he felt kind of bad since he knew he would never be able to properly introduce Jongin to his mom, at least not as his boyfriend. She would barely be able to accept the fact that her son was dating another guy, he thought, and his poor financial situation wouldn't do them any good either. Kyungsoo didn't mind that Jongin wasn't as rich as the people he had grown up around one bit, but he knew his mom would. And because he knew that, he also knew that if she ever found out about their relationship she would do everything in her power to keep them apart.

"Remember, I'll have my cell phone on me, so just text me if you need anything at all," Ryeowook said, stopped in front of the door and standing in front of his suitcase. "And I mean anything."

Hyung, I'll be alright, Kyungsoo said for what seemed like that millionth time to him. I'll be with Jongin, so I'll be just fine. Don't worry about me and just have fun on your vacation.

"Okay, I'll calm down," he said before giving Kyungsoo a warm hug goodbye. "But still, I'll have my phone with me."

I understood you the first time you told me. Kyungsoo laughed.

"I know I'm pushing this, but this is the first time we'll ever be apart for more than a few days," Ryeowook said, temporarily holding the younger male's hands. "I just don't want anything bad to happen to you. I mean, I know you'll be with Jongin, but something could still happen."

Stop worrying about me so much, hyung, Kyungsoo signed. I'm 23 years old. I think I can look out for myself. Besides, it's been ages since you've had a break from translating for me, so you should be focusing on no one but yourself for the next two weeks. Ryeowook gave Kyungsoo a smile and another warm hug before picking up his suitcase and walking outside. Upon putting his luggage in his car, he waved to Kyungsoo and told him that he'd see him in two weeks. Kyungsoo waved back and nodded, watching the car as it pulled off down the street before going back inside to finish packing. He had barely made it up the stairs when he turned back around and went back down, switching the lock on the door in order to lock it.

Not but a few minutes after he finished stuffing all the necessary items inside his black, fabric-covered suitcase, his phone vibrated and he paused zippering it up to see who had texted him.

From: Jonginnie <3

i'm outside waiting for you, babe! road trip time! 😄 🚗

Sent: 8:23 a.m.

Kyungsoo laughed at the text from Jongin and typed a quick reply before placing his phone back in his pocket and completing the task of zipping his suitcase. He dragged it off his bed and onto the floor, pulling up the handle and checking to make he had everything before hauling it downstairs with him. Jongin smiled and waved at him upon seeing him exit the house, earning a tender smile from the mute boy in response. He let go of his suitcase for a moment to lock the front door with the spare key Ryeowook gave him, stuffing it back in the pocket of his pants that held his phone before picking up his things again and walking over to Jongin.

"Good morning," Jongin said, extending his greeting to his boyfriend with a sweet kiss on the lips. "You ready to hit the road?" Kyungsoo nodded his head and allowed Jongin to take his luggage from him, placing it in the trunk on top of his. Kyungsoo had just opened the passenger's side door when Jongin came up behind him, swinging the keys in his face. "I drove all the way over here, so you need to at least drive me for an hour," he said.
