I slowly walk out of the bedroom and look around the hallway.

No sign of Damon.

I continue to walk down the hallway and peek my head in and out of each bedroom.

Wow, there are a lot of bedrooms.

"Aw, you look so cute when you're scared," I hear Damon's voice echo. I do a quick 360, but I don't see him.

"Quick question: if there are six other bedrooms in this house, why did you make me sleep in yours?" I ask out loud, addressing Damon wherever he is.

"Because Gabby," a vase next to me falls on the floor and I jump back. "I love to have beautiful women in my bed."

I roll my eyes, hoping he can see me. "Please tell me you changed those sheets before I slept there."

"Will that make you feel better?"

"Yes."

"Then I changed the sheets before you slept in my bed."

I can practically hear the smirk in his voice and I shake my head. "You're disgusting."

"You say that like it's a bad thing."

I keep walking down the hall and stop when I hear the floor behind me creak. I quickly turn around, but suddenly the lights go out, there's a breeze, and the lights come back on just as fast as they went off.

Everything around me looks normal. Damon's just messing with you is what I keep repeating to myself until I notice the hand that once held a wooden stake is empty.

I frantically search the hallway for it and when I don't find find it, I know there's only one answer.

"Damon!" I shout, storming down the stairs. "Give me back my stake! That's cheating and you know it!"

"But didn't you say you hate rules?" I hear Damon laugh.

"Yeah, but it's not fair, Damon! Just give it back!"

"Life isn't fair, Gabby."

Suddenly the front door slams and I jump a bit, running to the living room.

"It's okay, Gabby," I whisper to myself. "You can't let Damon win."

"Yeah, give yourself a pep talk, Gabby. Like that will help," Damon sneers. He sounds closer this time like he's in the kitchen. I run over to the kitchen and open the door, expecting him to be in there, but I'm greeted by an empty room.

"Oh, I bet you thought you got me that time, didn't you, Gabby?"

I groan in aggravation. "You're a dick, Damon!"

He scoffs. "Tell me something I don't know."

Frustrated, I grab a knife and walk back into the living room.

"Ooo, you're angry. Damon likey."

I see a black flash and throw the knife at it.

"Ha ha ha, missed me," he taunts as the lights go off again.

I make my way over to the closest wall, bumping into a chair and a side table along the way. I feel the wall for a light switch and have no luck finding one.

Great. Now I'm weaponless and I can barely see anything.

Wait a minute, I'm in the living room. Which means there are windows in here. If I can find the windows, I can open the curtains, find my knife, and still win this game.

Motivated, I retrace my steps, trying to figure out how far away I am from the windows.

I'm walking past the couch when I feel a breeze. I swear Damon is behind me, but when I turn around no one's there.
