"This is ten times better than anything I could've done," Elena gushes as she examines my handy work in the mirror.

"I try," I say, smiling at her as I play with her hair. "Do you want me to do your hair too ? I'm sort of on a roll today."

"No, that's okay. My-" Elena is cut off as a pretty, blonde woman, who looks like she's in her 20's, walks in.

"Elena, I put your dress in the other room, so now all we have to do is your hair and-" the woman stops talking when she sees me.

She looks back and forth between me and Elena as a confused look crosses her face.

"Okay, I know we joke about how I'm getting older," she says slowly, still staring at us. "But I'm pretty sure I'm not old enough to be hallucinating like this."

"You're not hallucinating, Aunt Jenna," Elena assures her with a laugh. "This is Gabby," she introduces, pointing up at me.

"Nice to meet you," I say, holding out my hand.

"Nice to meet you too, Gabby," she shakes my hand, still confused.

"She's my twin," Elena elaborates, noticing the confusion on her aunt's face. "But you probably already knew that."

"Actually, I didn't know that," Jenna admits.

"But Elena said you always knew that she was adopted," I point out.

"Yeah, I have, but I thought your mother only had Elena," she explains. "I never knew she had you too."

"Well, aren't you lucky? Now you get to have two amazing nieces," I smile, getsuring toward me and Elena. "Even though technically you're Elena's adoptive aunt, so you and I have no relation whatsoever."

"I'm still glad you're now in my life, Gabby," Jenna laughs, before hugging me.

"Duh," I laugh. "Everyone is."

"I'm glad you two are bonding, but I kind of need to finish getting ready," Elena interrupts.

"Right," Jenna says, grabbing a brush and a curling iron. "I'll get started on your hair."

"And I'll go see if Caroline needs any help," I say as I start to walk towards her.

"Took you long enough," Caroline says, looking at me through her vanity mirror as I approach her.

"Sorry. I had some sisterly duties to take care of, but I'm here now, so do you need anything?"

"No, I think I'm good. How do I look?" she turns around to face me, so I can inspect her makeup.

"Like this year's Miss Mystic Falls," I whisper, so Elena or any of the girls can't hear me.

Caroline laughs, shaking her head. "You're so sure that I'll win."

"And you're so doubtful," I counter. "But when you do win, I'll be the first person to say I told you so."

"Okay, whatever you say, Gabby. I think I'm going to go change now," she says as she stands up.

"Okay, I'll see you later," I hug her. "You're going to be great."

As Caroline leaves the room, Elena stands up too, saying, "Okay, I should go put my dress on." She looks over at me. "Do you want to come with me, Gabby?"

"Sure," I nod. "It beats sitting here, watching the other girls have panic attacks."

Elena laughs as I walk out the room with her.

As we walk into the other room, we see a girl pacing back and forth in front of the mirror, her anxiety evident.

"Maybe I spoke too soon," I mutter and Elena elbows me in the side.
