"Do you ever wonder how women peed back then?" I ask Elena and Jenna as I adjust the sleeves on my gown. "Like it must've been really hard to lift this up."

"Didn't they just squat over a hole or something?" Jenna says, distracted as she tightens Elena's corset.

"Really? That sounds horrible," I shake my head in disgust. "I'm glad we have indoor plumbing now."

Jenna lets out a laugh. "You and me both, kid."

Elena hisses as Jenna finishes tieing the sash of her dress. "Ow. This dress hurts."

"Humph. Suck it in baby," Jenna tells her, making me laugh and Elena sends me a death glare through the full length mirror she's standing in front of.

Today's finally the day Caroline has been planning for for months: Founder's Day.

Elena and I have to wear gowns like the ones they would wear in the 1800s. Elena has to dress up because she (well I was but nobody knows that) was in the Miss Mystic Falls pageant and is apart of that float, but Caroline is making me dress up too, so I can be an extra on one of the floats, which I'm not looking forward too.

But hey we all know it's better to do what Caroline says instead of arguing with her.

"We sort of look alike today," I observe as Elena and I walk onto campus.

"We do, don't we?" she realizes, glancing at me. "We've been doing that a lot lately."

We're carrying our heavy gowns in our hands as we trudge across the grass in search of Stefan, so him and Elena can get on their float.

"Yeah, but we probably shouldn't keep this up. People might start to mistake you for me," I gasp, pretending to be horrified at the thought of anyone thinking Elena is me.

She rolls her eyes at me, but I can she's holding back a smile. "You should be flattered. My dress is prettier than yours."

Our dresses are both gold, but hers has little white butterflies on it and a green sash, while mine is just plain gold with brown embroidery on it. It's cute, but if I had the choice I would choose my sister's gown over mine.

I nod, giving her that. "And that may be true, but my hair is prettier than yours."

Both of us have our hair curled right now, but I still I stop to smirk at her and toss my slightly longer and thicker hair over my shoulder.

She shakes her head at me, this time actually laughing. "You're a mess."

"Yup," I proudly beam, linking her arm through mine. "But you're stuck with me."

Elena smiles back and we talk about much fun today might actually be as we continue to walk.

We stop again when we feel someone's eyes on us and we see the Salvatore brothers a couple feet away, staring at us.
