"Do I have to?" I groan as I buckle my seat belt.
"For the tenth time, Gabby, yes," Alaric sighs, rubbing his temples as he looks at me through the rearview mirror. "You have to."
The three of us are sitting in the car, waiting for Jenna and Jeremy. After we told Alaric what happened tonight, we realized there was only one thing we could do, but I didn't realize that would involve me giving up something I didn't want to.
"Fine," I sigh as I reach my hand into my bra and pull out the vervain needle. "Here," I say, thrusting it towards Elena. "I guess you need more than I do anyway."
"Thanks," Elena says uncertainly, taking the needle from me. "But why do you keep it in your bra?"
"Because I never know when I'm going to need to inject a vampire with it," I say in an obvious tone of voice. "For instance, now is one of those times."
"Just be happy she finally gave it to you," Alaric interjects. "Or I was going to need someone to inject me with something."
"Ha ha ha," I say sarcastically, glaring at Ric. "Very funny."

"Are you sure you can do this?" I ask Elena as we approach the boarding house.
We went to Elena's house once Jeremy and Jenna finally got in the car. Then we quickly changed out of our dresses before driving over here. Elena lied to Jenna and told her she was sleeping over at my house. It's good thing Jenna and Liz don't really talk, so they won't know we're lying to both of them.
She nods. "I'm sure."
Damon opens the door before we even have a chance to knock. He's still in his suit, but the first three buttons of his shirt are undone and he looks suprisingly sexy in this disheveled state.
"Hey," he greets us as we walk inside. "He's in his room."
Elena nods before she ascends up the stairs, going through with the plan and leaving me alone with Damon.
"This kind of puts a damper on our sleepover, doesn't it?" he jokes.
I roll my eyes, but I laugh as I walk past him and into the living room, curling up on one of the couches.
Damon joins me and wraps an arm around my shoulders. The sudden gesture surprises me, but I lean into him.
"Do you think Stefan's going to be okay?" I ask, resting my head on his shoulder.
"This is Stefan we're talking about," Damon says as he starts to soothingly rub my arm. "He can get through anything."
Suddenly we hear yelling coming from upstairs. I stand up and quickly run to the staircase, ready to stop whatever is going on, but Damon is instantly in front of me.
"Nu uh uh," he tsks, wagging his finger at me. "You are not getting involved."
"But Damon-" I begin to protest, but he cuts me off.
"Elena's a big girl, Gabby. She knows how to handle herself," he reassures me.
"Fine," I pout. "Will you at least let me spy on them?"
"If that makes you happy," he sighs, stepping aside, so I can go upstairs.
"Yay," I cheer before jogging up the stairs.
When I reach the top of the staircase, I hear a loud bang coming from Stefan's room and sounds like someone being pushed against a wall.
Screw what Damon said and screw the plan, I think as I start to walk towards Stefan's room, but a strong arm grabs me from behind, while covering my mouth with the other hand.
