***Derrick’s P.O.V.***
I walked into Kendal’s apartment after I went home to get fresh. He told me Olivia was staying for dinner and I wanted to look good because this could turn into our first date.
“Hey, Ken?” I called out.
“He went out. With Olivia.” Vicki said coldly from the couch. She sat there glaring at me with her little freak, Vince, looking worried beside her.
“Do you know where they went?” I asked.
“Does it matter to you? I told Olivia not to see you anymore, and she agreed. So it’s about time you got lost. Don’t bother looking for them.” She said. If looks could kill, I would be long gone by now.
“What did you tell her?” I asked. Why did she have to get involved in my life? I’ll admit it, I messed up bad, but that was over a year ago. I have completely changed but she just won’t let it go.
“It’s not what I told her. Go ask Kendal what he said.” She had this little proud smirk on her face that I wanted to slap off. I hated her more than anyone I had ever met.
“I would, except you won’t tell me where he is!” I threw my hands in the air, this was pointless.
“Get. Out. Now.” She said in a low voice. No matter how much I hated to admit it, she was intimidating. I decided to back off before she had a freak-out- again. Vicki was somewhat known for her tantrums.
“See you later Vick! I’ll tell Olivia to call you whenever I find her!” I called out as I walked out the door. I needed to set the record straight with Olivia, and then find out whatever Kendall had told her.

I couldn’t stop laughing. I hadn’t felt this free since I was a kid. I opened my eyes and stared at the stars, trying to remember this moment.
Kendall continued pushing me on the swing, still laughing. “Why have we never had a play date before?” He chuckled.
“Well, I don’t believe you have ever taken me to the playground before.” I dragged my feet through the sand so I could slow down. “How long have we been here?” I asked him.
He looked at his watch and started laughing. “It’s past midnight. It’s been over two hours!” He grabbed my hand pulled me off of the swing towards him. “Should we go back home?” He asked.
I wasn’t ready to go back to the real world yet. Being a kid again and forgetting all the problems and stress from my life was just too perfect. I didn’t want to let it go. “Maybe in a little while. Hey, wanna race me to the slide?” I raised my eyebrows and looked up at him. He looked unsure for a second. “What are you? Chicken?” I hit him with my elbow playfully. “Scared a girl is gonna beat you?” I kept taunting.
“1, 2, 3, go!” He pushed me back and took off.
“Cheater!” I screamed as I ran after him. Kendall was fast, but I had been running track since 7th grade and was in front of him in no time.
“Oh no fair!” I heard him call out behind me.
I turned my head around and stuck my tongue out at him. “How is my dust tasting?” I called out. I turned my head around again and screamed. I jumped back and Kendall ran into me. We fell to the ground and he started laughing.
