G's POV
"So what's going on between you and Elena?" Jesse questioned me while there was a lull in the conversation.
"What do you mean?" I glanced at him before taking a bite of my burger.
He raised an eyebrow. "You know what I mean."
He was right; I knew exactly what he meant.
I shrugged nonchalantly. "We fucked. That's it."
There was a break of silence as he looked at me, which made me feel a little uncomfortable.
"Please, don't fuck around with her," Jesse advised me, his tone and expression both extremely serious and borderline scary. "Brooke's not impressed, to say the least."
"Yeah, I know," I responded. "She doesn't have to worry. Neither of us were letting on that this was anything more than just sex."
He laughed, taking a sip of his Coke. "I'm just telling you because if you screw Elena over, you can bet that Brooke will be coming for you. To be honest, I couldn't care less what you guys do, but this is just a fair warning."
I nodded. "Well, thank you."
It was silent for a few more moments before Jesse spoke again. "You came early so you could fuck her again, didn't you?"
I smirked a bit, running a hand through my hair. "I can neither confirm nor deny that."
"Jesus fucking Christ, man," he shook his head, laughing. "You're hooked on her now."
He was probably right; every time I slept with her, I found myself wanting her again more and more, which was rare for me. I usually bounced back pretty fast and never spent too much time focused on one girl.
I shrugged indifferently, not saying anything.
"Look," he began, his pensive demeanour returning. "If you were smart, you'd probably drop this now. Right now it's just innocent hookups, but someone's gonna get fucked over in the end. And Brooke really does not trust you being around Elena."
"Rightfully so," I cut in, chuckling. "I don't really have the greatest track record, and Elena is her best friend so it's kind of her obligation to protect her from assholes like me, right?"
"Hey," he held up his hands. "I never said you were an asshole, but honestly that's just Brooke's personality type. She's way too overprotective and sometimes she intervenes when it's not really necessary. I've said my piece, but ultimately it's up to you guys. You're adults who can make your own decisions, I'm just saying don't be destructive about it."
I nodded. "Point taken. Thanks, Jesse."
"Yeah, so did you want to go back to say goodbye to Elena?" he asked, grabbing his keys and standing up from the table in the tiny restaurant. "Your flight leaves in like two and a half hours, right?"
"Nah, I don't think she wants to see me anymore. Besides, I feel like Brooke probably wants to bite my head off by now," I chuckled, standing up as well. "I should probably figure out where Marty is at then head to the airport, anyways."
He laughed. "Yeah, she probably does. Did you want me to drive you?"
"Sure, that would be cool, thanks," I responded.
We walked outside into the mid-afternoon heat, getting into his car. I hated how I couldn't stop thinking about her. Detaching from her was the best possible thing I could do; it would definitely prevent me fucking her over in the long run. She was too nice of a girl to get herself caught up with me.
Once I arrived at the airport with Marty, I texted her a short goodbye. She would probably be pissed that I didn't respond, but she would get over it eventually. This was the best thing that I could do, and she would have to realize that someday.
A/N: Okay, so this chapter is rather short and boring, but I'll probably be posting another chapter soon since I have about another 9ish chapters written already, haha
