A/N: New chapter, and I think it's the longest one so far (?) I'm going to try my best to keep updates as frequent as I can, but classes start on Tuesday and I imagine they will probably take up a lot of my time, lol. As usual, feedback is always appreciated. Thanks so much for reading. x

Elena's POV

I woke up the next morning to the sound of a phone vibrating. It took me a moment in my sleepy haze to realize that it was mine, and that G was still sleeping soundly beside me. Much to my resentment, I rolled out of G's bed, fumbling in my purse to try to find it and silence it. Glancing at the caller ID, I groaned inwardly.

Fuck.

Making my way out of his room and into the living area, I answered the call.

"Hello?" my voice was thick with sleep, and I tried to clear my throat a bit.

"Elena? Did I wake you?" I heard my mother reply on the other end.

"Well, it is only 8:30 in the morning, mom," I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"That's not that early, honey," she laughed. "Not for normal people, at least."

"Whatever," I muttered, sitting down on the couch. "What did you want?"

"Wow, I just wanted to talk to my daughter!" she spoke, exasperated. "I haven't seen you in months, Elena. How have you been?"

"I'm fine, mom. Just... busy with work," I replied.

I heard her sigh. "We miss you. I think you should come home this weekend."

"This weekend? I-I can't."

"Come on, even your brother and sister are coming. You need to fit it into your schedule, Elena. Figure something out."

I heard a door open, and I glanced up to see G standing in his bedroom doorway. He was wearing only a pair of boxers, his hair disheveled and I had to admit, he looked adorable as hell. He smiled at me, coming over and sitting beside me. His lips kissed my neck before he spoke. "Who are you talking to?"

I held up a finger, and he moved away.

"Is that a boy?" my mother asked. "Do you have a boyfriend?"

"Mom, I- I have to go," I ignored her question.

"Oh my, bring him too!"

"Bye, mom," I hung up before she could say anything else, resting my head against the back of the couch.

"Your mom?" G chuckled.

"Fuck!" I exclaimed, causing him to become slightly taken aback.

"What's wrong?" he questioned.

"She wants me to go visit this weekend," I groaned.

"Damn, I was hoping to keep you around for a few days," he laughed. "It's fine, though. Don't worry about it."

I exhaled audibly. "No, I'm not worried about that. She... she's always on my back about me settling down with someone. She's like Brooke but way worse. She hates that I don't even have a boyfriend, let alone a husband at this point. Anyways, long story short she heard you talking and thinks you're my boyfriend and is expecting me to bring a guy when I visit."

He laughed again. "Shit, sorry."

I shook my head. "It's not your fault."

"Well, I mean it kind of is. I shouldn't have been being so nosy."

"Honestly, don't worry about it," I shrugged. "It would have been the same thing pretty much, regardless."

"I can pretend to be your boyfriend, if you want," he suggested after a brief pause.
