A/N: I'm so bad at being consistent with this, and I'm sorry. Unfortunately, this is the last chapter I have written so far, but I have reading week so I don't go back to school until next Monday. I'm going to try my best to use at least a little bit of the time to get some written. Thank you all so much for reading. x

We spent the next couple of days at the apartment, and Brooke avoided us at pretty much all costs. Any time we were around, she was either gone or off in her room. The tension started to become awkward, and G decided to get a hotel room once he started recording at the studio. He said he just wanted the convenience of being close, but I knew the real reason was because of the apprehensive energy that clouded the apartment when the three of us were in the same room.

Once he was gone, Brooke and I were sitting in the living room together.

"What's your deal?" I asked her, breaking the awkward silence.

"What?" she looked up in my direction.

I sighed. "Look, I know you don't like G and I being together, but do you really have to act like this? Like why do you care so much?"

"I care about your feelings, Elena, which is something he will never do," she responded. "I'm your friend. I'm just looking out for you. That's what friends do, right?"

"Brooke, neither of us have any feelings for each other. I'm not worried about him hurting my feelings," I spoke.

"Yeah, but you're slowly falling for him. I can see it. You act differently around him now. If this was all really just about sex, would you have taken him to meet your parents? I doubt it. He is notorious for treating girls like shit. He'll act like he cares about you until he gets bored and moves on. He uses people to get what he wants and then leaves. It's just the way he is," she explained. "I've seen it first hand."

I shook my head. If anything, it was me who was treating him like shit. After I put him in his place in the hotel room, he'd been extremely well behaved. I was the one who kept going back for more and sort of initiated this relationship thing in the first place.

"I... I'm not falling for him. I told you why he went to meet my parents. It has nothing to do with me liking him," I paused for a moment. "What do you mean you've seen it first hand?"

She exhaled audibly. "I've been his friend for awhile, Elena. He lives up to the stereotypical lifestyle of a touring musician, okay? Like honestly, I'm surprised he's stuck around this long. Just... don't get yourself too caught up, because the second you do, he'll be gone."

"I'm in control of things, Brooke. Don't worry about it," I stood up, going over to my bedroom door. "I'm going to go to sleep. Night."

She raised her hands in defeat before placing them back in her lap. "Well, goodnight, then."

The next week or so passed by rather uneventfully. G was constantly in the studio, and I was busy with shoots, so I hardly ever saw him. Brooke was noticeably happy with this. I, however, was beginning to miss him. It sucked that even though we were so close to one another, we still couldn't spend time together. Text message conversations were few and far between, and when we did talk, it was so brief as we were usually both quite exhausted by the time there was a few minutes to spare for a chat. It was pretty stupid that I missed him so much. We weren't even in a real relationship, after all. I hated that I was becoming so dependent on attention from him.

Just finished the last day of recording before I head back on tour, he had texted me just after I arrived back at the apartment.

When do you leave? I responded.
