A/N: I'm finally done school for a couple of weeks, so I did my best to try and get a relatively long update done, lol. This fic is making me frustrated because I'm trying to get all the plot details sorted out still, so I'm sorry if the last few chapters have seemed kind of slow but they are still important to the plot, I promise. Also this recently hit 10k reads which is so, so awesome and honestly it means the world to me that people actually enjoy reading what I write. Vote/comment if you liked it, as usual. Hopefully the next update will be posted faster. Thanks again for reading! x

Elena's POV

I stood in the middle of the party, talking to a couple of acquaintances I had met through their connections with G. He had said he was coming back at least a half hour ago, but I hadn't seen him since. I wasn't all too worried, as I just assumed he ran into some friends and got busy talking with them.

A little while later, the group of people dispersed, leaving me on my own surrounded by strangers. I checked my phone for the time, seeing it was just after two. I was starting to get tired and was ready to head out, but there still was no sign of G. By then, I was a little frustrated because he knew I didn't know many people here, and he left me by myself. I began moving through the crowds, hoping I'd be able to spot him, which I figured wouldn't be too hard of a task considering how much he towered over everyone.

As I made my way through the party, I ran into Marty again.

"Oh, hey, Elena," he greeted me, offering me the bottle of Maker's in his hand, which I gladly accepted. "What are you doing all by yourself?"

I brought the bottle to my lips, shrugging. " Everyone I was talking to left, and G disappeared awhile ago. Have you seen him anywhere?"

"Uh, last I saw him was when you guys first got here," he responded. "I can stay with you until you find him, if you want."

"Oh no, it's okay," I shook my head, going to pass the bottle of whiskey back to him. "I'll find him eventually."

"Nah, you keep it," he chuckled. "If I drink too much more I'll be passed out. I'll see you later then, Elena."

"Of course," I spoke. "See you."

He waved goodbye, disappearing into the masses.

I began looking for G once again, drinking the remaining contents of the bottle. By the time I spotted him on the other side of the room, I was really feeling the effects of the alcohol.

"G, there you are," I walked over to him, sitting beside him, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"Lena?" he spoke, his tone surprised.

"I didn't know where you went," I set the empty bottle down on the floor.

"Sorry, I got sidetracked..." he trailed off, taking my face in his hands. "Are you alright?"

I closed my eyes, nodding. "I am just fine."

He exhaled, trying not to laugh. "Okay, come here."

He grabbed my arm, steadying me as we stood up.

"What are you doing?" I asked as he led me away from his group of friends.

"How much did you drink?" he looked down at me again.

I sighed, grabbing his face. "How much did you drink?"

He laughed, taking my wrists in his hands. "Not nearly as much as you, I don't think."

I started laughing with him, almost losing my balance before he caught my arm.

"Are you sure you're okay?" his tone was concerned, but he still sounded like he could burst into laughter at any second.
