"Gir, exactly how many times do I have to tell you to KNOCK ON THE FLIPPING DOOR?!" the Galaxianite yelled, her eyes turning bright yellow in frustration. "Fifteen! Um, no...two! Uh...forty-five? UUUURRRRNGH!!" Gir screeched. Sam rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers, changing him to Bloody Gir once again. "Destroy Zim, Dib, Sam, and Silverfox!" Bloody Gir repeated, saluting. "But, my commander, aren't you Sam?" The short-haired female smiled coolly at him, avoiding the question. "New task: Knock on the door!" Sam ordered. The robot saluted again and knocked on the door so precisely that it made a nice, hollow sound throughout the house. She changed into a human just in time.
The door creaked slowly open, revealing a piece of glass and fabric. "Yes, Sam?" Dib asked from behind the door of Zim's base. "Yes, Dibs, hello. Em, I was wondering if you've seen the same strange alien beast too," she said sweetly. Dib put a hand to his forehead and closed his eyes as if he were fending off anger. "Look, I know it was you, okay? You don't have to act for me," he said, opening his eyes. Sam put on a surprised face and replied, "Whatever do you mean, Dibs? I was attacked by that wretched thing!" He opened the door completely. "How come you're with Gir then?"
"HIIIII!" Gir said from behind her, waving vigorously. "Yes, well, I was walking over here because I saw something fly out of the house and I spotted him by an amusement park. You're lucky a rescued him," she lied. She brought a hand up to the back of her neck as if she were casually rubbing it, but there was actually a remote attached to it. Take control of Sam Trew, she thought. The layout of the buttons changed and she pressed a button before flipping a white switch. "Okay, so you're saying you didn't just hold a knife up to Tak's neck two hours ago?" Dib asked. "I'm not buying it."
"Dib Membrane!!" a loud voice called from the sky. It was a Galaxianite by the looks and it flew towards him with growing anger. "How dare you?!" Dib backed up as the creature landed on the fence in front of him. "What? I didn't do anything!" "He broke my burritos! My burritoooooos!!!" Gir cried, falling to his knees with water somehow dripping out of his LED eyes. "Your what?" Dib asked, confused. Sam shook her head. "Poor baby, confused are you?" she taunted. Gir began to leak red, shiny liquid like he did when he attacked him and his high-pitched voice turned lower until it began to sound robotic, then it stopped. Both the creature and Gir began to laugh as Sam smirked at him devilishly.
They slowly stalked into the house, eerily silent except for the occasional laugh. "Okay, if this was to creep me out, it's working! Drop the act," Dib said, pressing against the wall. They continued to creep closer with an evil look on their faces. "I said drop the act!" he yelled again. Something in his mind told him this wasn't an act. If they were under a spell, what was the cause? How could he stop them when Tak is still asleep (and waking her up would be stupid) and Zim is nowhere to be found? He couldn't! He just couldn't!
"Poor Dib, so unknowing, so...afraid," Sam taunted, putting a hand between him and the kitchen door. Gir stood on the other side of him and the creature waited a few feet away. "Stop it!" Dib commanded. "I didn't get what I'm looking for, Dib."
"What do you want from me?!"
Her eyes glittered with mischief as she touched him in the shoulder. Tingles went down his spine as he felt her hand, so soft and warm, on him. He suddenly felt weak, then he felt angry. He didn't know why, but he blamed it on his love for Sam. Her touching him like this...he wanted more, but he wanted less. Wow, this woman is so confusing...
Sam's time was running out to find a plan to get out without any suspensions. She only had one way out. "You really wanna know?" she asked, not waiting for a reply as she......
Punched him in the nose really hard, making red blood splatter out! "You big-headed, insane jerk!" Sam snapped. Dib held his nose gingerly, looking at her with pitiful eyes. "Why...?" he asked weakly. She showed no mercy. "Why?! Because you lied to me! You always put your little 'mankind saving' first and not anything else! Has it ever occurred to you that Zim is just a normal kid?! Well?!" Dib's eyes glistened wetly as he wiped some blood off his upper lip with his sleeve. He was speechless.
"C'mon Gir. C'mon...you," she ordered, leaving. You? Dib asked in his head, the one question that stood out in the midst of all the chaotic thoughts flying around in his mind. Why would she call the creature "you"? Did she know her? What if the reason she was acting up was because she had a mind-switch device set on them? one question lead to another, over and over again. He shook his head and began to search for a cloth for his still-bleeding nose. "Metllst..." he heard Tak say in her sleep. Must be a word in Zim's language, Dib thought. It didn't even come to him that Tak was going through a dream of her past: Her training, her failure, her banishment....her escape.
Her past was catching up to the present. By then, she'd be completely useless. Brainwashed. Then she'd be in Sam's control, and there was no going back, no surrendering. Little did Sam know that Zim was still surviving out there; that she took just the extra amout of energy he didn't need. He would be the only one left to stop this ever-increasing evil that threatened to take over the universe.
