Vivian-

It was Wednesday. Finally.

I had spent the entire week in anticipation of Denis coming back into the hospital.

Although I was on my toes all day because I didn't know when he was going to come in.

Every patient that passed through bored me.

I just wanted Denis to come back in through those doors.

Just when I thought he wasn't coming the doors opened and Denis sauntered into the waiting room, talking to Nova at the desk.

"I'm here to see Dr.Night." He said politely.

"I'll page her and let her know you are here." Nova smiled.

"I got it." I interrupted her. "Follow me." I offered him a small smile.

He nodded following me to a room similar to the one we were in the last time. He sat down on the table and chuckled.

"What?" I asked.

"The surroundings are the same in every room." He laughed.

God I missed that laugh.

"The surroundings are a bit monotonous, but you get used to it after a while." I explained.

He nodded.

"So how have you been feeling?" I asked, pulling up his chart on my laptop.

"Much better. I'm not dizzy anymore. Very bored." He smirked.

Denis was always sarcastic.

"And your stitches?"

"Itchy. Tight. Uncomfortable."

"Good. That means they worked. I was worried that you would have ripped them out by now." I smirked.

"What's that supposed to mean little owl?"

"That's not my name." I clenched my teeth. If I got used to him calling me that again I would surely fall for him. That couldn't happen.

He held up his hands in surrender.

"Alright! Don't shoot me." He joked.

"I'm going to remove your stitches now." I sighed, grabbing my cutting tool.

"Will this hurt?" He asked.

Denis was a wimp when it came to pain.

"It'll feel like little pinches."  I explained, lightly pinching his arm.

"That's not too bad." He bit his lip.

"I'm sorry I can't numb you for this, it would swell too much for the string to come out." I explained.

He nodded.

"I'll be a man." He chuckled.

I began to work, slowly because taking stitches out sometimes could go a bit strange and string would get tangled and stuck.

"Ow." He muttered, wincing.

"Shut up." I muttered. "I'm trying to work."

"It hurts." He pouted.

I grabbed his hand with my left one.

"Just squeeze my hand if I hurt you too badly." I rolled my eyes.

"Are you sure you should be working one handed."

"I do this kind of thing twenty times a day. I could do it in my sleep." I bragged proudly.

"I'm glad that I'm in good hands, he smiled, running his thumb across my hand softly.

I finished removing the sutures a few minutes later, throwing away the string, not realizing that he was still holding onto my hand.

"Okay I'm gonna check and see if you still have a concussion." I told him, reaching for my light, not realizing I was still holding onto his hand.

I looked down to see his large hand holding my tiny one tightly.

"Oh...uh sorry." He apologized, suddenly letting go and scratching the back of his neck.

I blushed.

I'm twenty four years old and I'm blushing. I'm an idiot.

I quickly turned away so he couldn't catch it, grabbing my light and shining it into his eyes to see if his pupils were dilating correctly.

They were.

"I believe your concussion is gone and your brain is healed. If you still have any pain try changing your medication to something over the counter it was less effect on your liver that way."

"My liver is made of steel." He chuckled.

"You say that until you get alcohol poisoning and die." I smirked.

"Doesn't sound fun."

"Well you are good to go. It was nice seeing you again Denis." I offered a small smile.

It was more than nice. It was amazing. Everything that I wanted it to be and more.

I missed him so much over those long six years.

I was about to walk out of the room when he called after me, stopping me.

"Viv?" He asked.

"Yeah?" I turned around.

"Would you want to maybe catch up over drinks or something?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck. He was nervous.

Did going out for drinks with him count as cheating on my boyfriend?

It wasn't a date. Jake wouldn't mind. It was just a friendly catch up time with my best friend.

"Yeah. What night?" I smiled.

He exhaled, relieved.

"Friday alright?" He asked.

I nodded.

"Bay hotel? 7 PM?" He asked.

"Sounds great. Ill see you then." I waved goodbye.

"See you then." He smiled.

Nova approached me quickly after he left.

"Okay, who is that fine piece of ass?"

I blushed.

"That's Denis."

"The one from high school? In that band?" She looked excited.

I nodded.

"Girl jump his bones. He is fine."

"Nova! I'm dating Jake."

"I'm just saying, guys who look like that don't come around Jersey every day."
She winked.

"Whatever Nova." I laughed. "What's next in my schedule?" She was the main nurse under me, so we worked together most of the day, that's why we were so close.

"You have a surgery. Kid needs his appendix out."

"Got it. I'll see you later." I walked to the operating wing.

My mind was going a million miles per hour. I was going out with Denis and I couldn't be  happier. The way it felt when he held my hand felt right.

Just two conversations with him and I was falling in love all over again.
