Vivian-
It was Friday night and I was due to meet Denis in an hour.
I was supposed to have left the house three minutes ago because of traffic, but some kid had swallowed a glow stick and we had to pump his stomach.
A day in the glamorous life of Vivian.
I quickly ran a brush through my hair, letting it fall straight, running to my closet to pick an outfit. I had to make a good impression.
What was I saying to myself? This was Denis. He told me I looked elegant in a T shirt once. Nonetheless I still had to look great.
I grabbed short tight red dress with long sleeves. It was sexy and elegant, perfect for going out for drinks at a nice hotel.
I grabbed some heels and quickly brushed some makeup on, hopping into my car and speeding off, only to get stopped in traffic.
Forty five minutes later I found myself sitting in traffic honking at anybody who cut me off, which happened a lot.i finally got to the hotel at 7:15.
I saw Denis sitting at a high top table, checking his phone, tapping his foot.
I walked over and sat down across from him.
"I was beginning to think that you had bailed." He smiled
"I'm so sorry I was late, I had an emergency at the hospital and then I hit traffic." I said, embarrassed.
"It's alright. I'm just glad that you are here." He smiled.
"So am I."
The waiter approached and asked us what we would like.
I ordered a dry red wine. While Denis ordered some whiskey.
He probably could hold his alcohol better than I could.
"So red wine?" He raised his eyebrow.
"What's wrong with that?"
"I always thought you would be a white wine kind of girl." He chuckled.
"Well a lot about me has changed." I smirked, taking a sip of my drink. "How's the band?"
"Great, our second album just went platinum." He said as if it were no big deal.
"Oh my gosh that's amazing." I smiled.
"It's great. Everything I could have asked for. And how is your job? Is it everything you wanted?"
I nodded.
"It was worth every sacrifice I made in high school. I love it here. I love meeting new people, I love saving lives. It's amazing." I smiled. "How is the everybody in the band doing? Is Maddie still working for you?"
He nodded. "Yes she is. She and James are now married."
"Married?" I felt my jaw drop.
He nodded.
"Yup. Last year. Sam, and Ben are also married, and Cam is in a serious relationship."
"What about you?" I asked.
"I never got out of the frontman lifestyle." He said.
So he basically fucked chicks and then ditched them.
"Oh." I bit my lip.
"Who was the man at the hospital last week?" He asked.
"Jake." I couldn't help but smile when I said his name. "He's been my boyfriend for three years."
