Vivian-
I stared down at Jake in awe.

He wanted me to marry him.

And leave with him.

He had just professed his love for me.

I stared down at him.

"Jake....I uh." I reached for his hand, bringing him back to his feet.

"I can't." I let a tear slip down my cheek.

"What? Why not?" He looked confused.

I had totally blindsided him.

"I just....I can't pick up and move."

"Viv, two weeks ago you told me you would travel to the ends of the earth with me. What changed?" He looked hurt.

"Jake, I.....I reconnected with someone from my past. And I'm having feelings for them that I didn't think I would." I sighed.

"You're cheating on me?" He looked stunned.

"No! I'm just not completely sure about us anymore."

"Oh my god. I'll make it easy for you. Never speak to me again." He snapped, turning to walk away.

"Jake! I'm sorry! Please don't just walk away!" I called after him in tears.

"Save it Vivian." He glared, getting into his car and driving away without me.

I started to walk.

I didn't know where I was going. I just needed to walk.

I walked and I walked, not realizing that it had started to pour rain, leaving me soaked.

I was still crying, knowing I had hurt someone who I loved was very difficult.

I looked around to realize that I didn't know where I was.

It was an upscale neighborhood, large houses, large yards.

Everything was large.

Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a black car.

Reading the license-plate I realized that the car belonged to Denis.

Without thinking I suddenly ran up, knocking on the door.

Why did I do that? I groaned internally as the door swung open, revealing Denis, clad in pajama pants with no shirt on, yawning.

"Viv?" He asked, looking concerned, opening the door. "Come on you are gonna catch a cold." He ushered me into his large home.

I must have looked terrible.

My clothes were soaked, as was my hair, my eyes had to be puffy and my makeup was probably running down my cheeks.

"Thanks." I whispered, my voice cracking a bit.

"I'm gonna get some dry clothes for you okay?" He asked, taking my hand, leading me upstairs to his bedroom.

I nodded as he handed me a t shirt and a pair of his pajama pants.

"We can match." He chuckled.

"The bathroom is right here." He pointed to a door.

I nodded in reply and quickly went in to change.
I looked like hell.

I quickly re tied my hair, changed and wiped the makeup off with my hands, stepping out of the bathroom to see Denis sitting on his bed.

He smiled at me, taking my hand and leading me back downstairs and into his living room, sitting down on a couch, me next him him.

"Not that I don't love seeing you here, but why are you here?"
