Zombies : The Dead That Walk

Chapter 1 - Escape: Book by LukeElston and SlenderHunter123

Hi just wanted to say how much me and one of my amazing freinds called slenderhunter 123 are looking forward to writing our first story and we hope you guys enjoy it, it should be good just let me know how were getting on here we go oh almost forgot SlenderHunter123 enjoy ;D

I woke up to the smell of fresh coffee I have been living with my sister for quite a while now as I am working to save up for my own place which will be really cool when I hit my target but that probably won't happen for awhile though. I quickly throw on some close and stampede down the stairs trying to be careful that I don't trip I don't really wanna be going to the hospital. As I reach the bottom of the stairs I swerve round the corner and reach the kitchen my sister Emma has made me a coffee and also breakfast which I'm quite relieved at I don't feel like making anything today as I still feel sluggish as I slurp down my coffee.

"Jason I'm heading out work soon just call if you need me" Emma says grabbing her coat and her car keys.

"That's fine" I reply. And with that she unlocks the front door and heads out on to the street the heavy door closes behind her. I quickly eat my breakfast and drink the rest of my coffee but taking my time as there's no rush because I'm off work today I decide to sit down and switch on the news and as I do I see the reporter and listen to what she has to say.

"There has been several reports about a virus spreading accross the city of nottingham and all personel are to remain inside I repeat remain inside" The news anchor repeats with a worried look in her eyes. Just at that moment I hear a knock on the door an unusual one its kind of like a pounding I draw the curtains and look outside an injured figure with rags for clothes and blood pouring out of his left eye and they are midnight black this figure also has a set of gnashing and dangerous teeth I quickly run into the kitchen and grab a duffel bag and pack food , water and clothes I also reach into my draw and pull out a revolver that I saved incase of emergencies and by the looks of it this is an emergency then the thought strikes you.Emma. I have to find her you don't want her to be chowed down on by these-these things I hear a loud crash and that thing I saw earlier is standing in the doorway with its back arched swaying at me it runs in full sprint and dives on top of me and I duck just in time as its claws just skimmed my head but now I'm in a deeper mess the thing is on top of me gnashing its yellow fangs I wrestle with it and with a great heave I managed to get it off of me just as I reach for my revolver but I'm to late the derranged man jumps at me again I close my eyes waiting for pain but I hear a bang and I open my eyes and stair at the lifeless body that just attacked me then I turn to the right and there she was.Emma. " Hi jason having a good time" she says with a smirk unfolding on her lips

"Yeah I was just playing hide and seek with a freind" I reply sarcasticly

"Come on we have to get outta here or we aint gonna last long" Emma states and with that we unlock the door and rush to the car we quicly strap ourselves in and start to drive as Emma is driving I look at the ghastly street filled with creatures tearing at people and eating them alive what the hell is going on is this some sort goverment experiment gone erong or what?. About half an hour later we come up to a junction and all of a sudden emma strikes up a conversation with me. "Do you think we will survive all of this" she asks.

"I don't know but I hope so let's just focus on current affairs we need to survive as long as we can" I reply "I agree right now we need a safe haven to where those things cannot get to us and the farm is the best bet" she states clearly. "I don't know there could be many other places we could take refuge in like old chapels,shopping center's we could easily make a fort outta them" I reply. "Yes but for now we go to the farm" emma speaks enthusiastically. This whole thing has really put me and emma on edge I mean what if none of us actually survive this what if we become the rotten corpses on the street being ripped limb from limb having our intestines slurp and clawed at while our lifeless bodys lie dismembered in a pool of blood. I push them thoughts away as we are only a few miles away from the farm a place to be safe for now we pass a few scattered trees and I spot something perculiar its a little boy about 13 years of age wondering around, he doesn't look infected from his face or clothes but he gnashes his teeth and let's out a throaty growl at a stray dog and then it gives chase,the dog stands its ground and pounces at it tearing its head from its spinal colum the zombie boy drops dead lifeless and the dog scampers away happily with the head in its hands."Emma how far?" I ask "2 miles" she quickly replies.in that short space of two miles I tell emma survival strategy's that I've seen on movies with zombies in this stuff could actually be quite useful and we should use it and take every note of it in,and this she does she takes great intrest and starts joking around after abit and she even starts joking around about the whole zombie apocalypse I mean this is no joke.
