Chapter 9 - Red Alert

We have set up a base were we are going to spend quite a few days here hoping to make it as useful as we can now we are all on high alert because we don't know when we are going to have to leave or we don't come out at all. Over the past few days we have been gathering a huge amount of supplies and we probably won't need anything for about two months because of how much we have shipped.

Melissa has been talking to me over the past few days and we have been spending more time with eachother the other group members are getting suspicious about us but so far nothing has happened. The day started off simply as I got up got dressed then went to melissas dorm to speak to her. I knock on her door and she knows who it is straight away and she says " hi luke come in" I open the door and walk in and sit next to her she imediately started talking about eachother asking what life was like before the outbreak she grabs my top and pulls me closer our lips touch and she presses harder and more passionately and I kiss her back.

Our lips move together in sync and after a few minutes we pull away and we both smirk at eachother and get up and leave the room holding hands. We step downstairs and enter the office where matt is at. "Matt we should leave tomorrow" I say to him. He nods and me and melissa step out of the room she pecks me quickly on the lips and we go and talk to ellie may. BANG!! Matt quickly runs out of the room and says "were under attack get in positions!" We all take positions at the boarded up windows and we all obey orders and do as he says melissa stands next to me shivering with fear I place a hand on her shoulder to calm her and she crouches down next to me and hands me my ak 47 I tell matt we should attack them now because they are trying to raid all our supplies we have earned I over hear one of their conversations and I hear them say kill the rest I want jason.

"Matt let's attack them now while we still have the chance I say he nods and gives the orders to remove the panels off the windows the raiders spot us and begin to fire in our direction. I send a flurry of bullets at the raiders taking two of them out. One of the raiders shoot at ellie may and the bullets head right for her. "Ellie duck!" I shout but its too late the bullet hits her shoulder and she falls back on to the floor another hits her in the stomach as she drops I see ieuan struggling shooting at a raider and a bullet hits him in the arm I realise I must take action I boot the front door down collecting my mp5 and dropping the ak as its out of bullets and I run towards the raider bullets flying past my head but none of them hit me, I spot a car behind me and one of the raiders shoots at it I turn left and sprint and I jump taking off into the air and as I do so shoot bullets in their direction. The raiders all drop dead apart from the leader who is stood their gobsmacked he turns around and sprints for the trees.

I turn around and I am met with a hug from melissa matt tells us its time to set off on the road again.
