"Morning Dad." I say
"Hey James." Dad said
"Where's Mom?" I ask
"Oh, uh, well, she was arrested." Dad said
"What?" I ask
"Yeah, I guess she back-talked the officer, and that got her arrested." Dad said
"How long is she in?" I ask, shaking
"Few months." He says
"Few months?! How come you're not flipping out! She's your wife!" I scream almost
"Because, I think she deserves it, she back talked an authority." He said
I didn't respond, "I'm off to work, see ya." I say
"Okay, have a good day." Dad says, with a blank face
I open the door, and see a letter with my name on it. What was Dad's deal? I put the letter in my pocket, and decide to read it later.
The bike ride was quicker than usual, James and Trinity aren't even here yet. Oh yeah, that letter I got. I open it up.
James,
We know what your doing, watch yourself, tell you and all your friends that you won't make it far, this is a warning, a warning that put your Mom in jail, and brainwashed your Dad, keep going, and it's gonna go farther.
I stare at the letter, frightened. What do I do?! I can't just stop! But I can't let my parents die! Who do I tell? I decide not tell Trinity and Michael for a while, but Chloe has to know about this. I see Chloe in a car, she gets out.
"Hello James." She says
"Hey Chloe, you have to see this." I tell her
She looks at me, then I give her the paper. She reads it.
"Okay, don't panic, come home with me tonight, okay?" She tells me
"Okay." I say, frightened
"It'll be okay, we will figure it out." She walks off, I hear her talk into a microphone hidden in her shirt, "Emergency team meeting, my house tonight, this is important."
The bell rings, lunch time. I drop my things, and walk towards the cafeteria.
"Hey James." Trinity says
"Hi Trinity." I say
I go get our slop-for-food and sit down.
"Hey guys, I need to tell you something, but you can't tell anyone, okay?" I ask
"Yeah sure." Michael says
"Your secret will be safe with me." Trinity says
"Okay good, well, I got a letter by someone." I say
"Who?" Trinity asks
"Don't know," I continue, "Anyways, the letter said that they know what's going on, and to watch out, and we won't make it far. Also, they imprisoned my Mom and temporarily brainwashed my Dad." I say
"Are you serious?" Trinity asks
"Dead serious, it's messed up, we have to act quicker, don't tell anyone, promise?" I ask
"I promise." Michael says
"Me too." Trinity says
Michael asks, "How long is your Mom in jail, few days?"
