Chapter 10

"So Chloe I need to tell you something.." I say

She finishes eating, "Yeah what's up?"

"Do you promise you won't tell anyone?" I ask her

"Promise." She says

"Okay, well," I pause, "I was kinda in a life-or-death situation yesterday."

"How?" She asks

"Well, there's a guy named Mr. Ford, he's one of our bosses. I guess he's been watching me, he was the one behind doing those things to my parents." I say

"Oh crap." She says

"Well, don't worry." I say, "He was going to interrogate me, or kill me. We got into a fight, I eventually knocked him out, and injected some serum that makes him forget memories."  

"Good, well hopefully he will forget that stuff." She says

"He will, it knocks out recent and shallow memories, not the core memories." I say

We sit in silence for a few minutes.

"So what do we have planned for the meeting today?" I ask

"Well, we are going to debrief the mission, and do weapons training, I'll try to make it fun." She chuckles

"When's the actual mission?" I ask

"What's today again?" She asks

"Sunday, our day off." I tell her

"Right, then it'll be Tuesday night, and we'll probably go into the early Wednesday hours." She says

"Awesome," I say, "Also, my friends were wondering if they could tag along." I say to Chloe

"Sorry, no." She says

"Why not?" I ask, a little angry

"We've been training for too long now for them just to jump in, plus we didn't fit them in a invisi-suit, sorry" She says

"True, it's okay." I respond

"Okay people, let's hop in the van, today is the last training day. We are going to practice shooting." Chloe says

"How are we not gonna get caught, there are no places to shoot?" Someone asks

"I got the van a invisible wrap, it only works for an hour, and then it needs a recharge, we'll be fine." Chloe says

We all walk out.

I'm the second-to-last one in the van, the guy behind me closes the door. He sits next to me.

"Hi, I don't think we've met, my name's Noah." He says

"Hi, I'm James." I shake his hand

"So you excited to do this mission?" Noah asks

"Yeah, that women is my Mom, so it'll be good to see her." I respond

"Oh, I'm sorry this happened, but we'll get her out." He says

We sit in silence for a minute.

"So why were you chosen to be a part of this team?" He asks me

"I honestly don't know, I guess Chloe sees potential in me? I don't honestly know, what about you?" I ask him

"I have marksmanship skills." Noah says

"What's that?" I ask

"It's when you're talented at shooting, you can essentially shoot anything at any distance, I've practiced over the years." He says
