"Chloe I need help." I walk up to Chloe
"What's wrong James?" She asks me
My face reddens, "Well it's just that, well, I don't know how I'm going to teach my group."
Chloe nods, "I understand. Well, we are going to print some basic instructions with day-to-day instructions. Will that help?"
"Yeah, actually that will. Thanks Chloe." I smile
"No problem," She says, "How's your mother doing?"
I'm not really sure, so I say, "Fine, I haven't seen her around. We're kind of separating."
"Don't let it happen. She'll be the only one that's gonna be on your side all the time. Trust me, I'd know." She says
"I know, I need to talk to her."
"Have you heard anything about my dad?" I ask
Chloe looks down, she blushes, "No, he's not at the house. I'm afraid he might've been killed."
I look at her shocked, my eyes start to water.
"James, they know who you are. They know everything about you, they're gonna try to tear everything around you down. Things you care about, don't let it happen." She hugs me
How could've this happened? My anger starts to build.
"I'm sorry, James. Don't let it overtake you," Chloe says, "Do you want me to tell your mom?"
I don't respond, pissed off.
"James?"
"This is your fault this happened! I should've never been sucked up in this trap! Now the government is tearing me apart, why? Because of you, because of us! This should've never happened!" I scream, people start to look at me
Chloe stares at me, "Don't let it get to you, and you did." She walks off
I stand there, everyone looking at me. I storm off.
I just embarrassed myself over there.
No you didn't, you expressed what you believed, and it's true.
But it's not! I let my emotions get the best of me! This is exactly what the government wants! For me to break apart!
I walk to the edge of the warehouse, and fall to my knees. I feel super embarrassed. I look up and see my mom walking to me.
"Chloe told me," My mom says, "Don't let it get to you, he knows what you're doing is the right thing." I love her calming voice
"Thanks mom, I'm just super embarrassed, that should've never happened. And I didn't really don't even think that's true." I say, my eyes tear up
My mom smiles, "I know you didn't, and everyone else knew to. Everyone will break down once and a while, it's normal. Don't let it get to you, that's exactly what Aleman and his people want."
"Okay, thanks mom." I say, my voice shaking
"Follow me, let's go back. No one will say anything, I already talked to them. I suggest you apologize to Chloe, she's a sweet girl." My mom says
