--------------1992--------------
I bounded down the hallway.
Going to the toilet, la la la~

I turned around the corner, and saw a door with the words 'girls lavatory' on it. There was a wooden sign that fell onto the floor, but I ignored it.

I pushed on the door, and saw three familiar faces, huddled around a cauldron. Two of which were boys, which made me widen my eyes in surprise. Then I realized they were Ronald, Harry and that Hermes girl. Her eyes lit up when she saw me.

'W-what are you doing here?' I stammered.

'No one comes in here, you said. It will be safe, you said.'

'Don't worry, Ron. You won't tell on us, will you?'

I ignored her. 'Are you brewing a potion?'

'We'll tell you if you promise not to tell on us.'

'I promise,' I said hastily. 'Now what are you up to?'

'Swear on the oath of Friendship.'
Hermes said.

'I swe- wait, what?'

'You've got to be friends with us if you're gonna hear our secret.'

'O-okay. I swear on the oath of friendship.'

'Alright. We think that Draco Malfoy is the heir of Slytherin, and we want to find out by making Polyjuice Potion so we can turn into Crabbe and Goyle.'

'Who?'

'Malfoy? The most evil human being alive? Slytherin snob with rich parents? How can you not know who he is?'

'Well, excuse me for not being social.'

'Do you not have any friends?'

'Uh, of course I do! Just, not here.'

'Well, you're our friend now.'
---------------------------------
Why?! Just why?!

I mean, I'm flattered that someone would have a crush on me, but three? It's just a lot to take in! Unless it's Malfoy again...

I mean, why am I even so paranoid about this? I have a perfect boyfriend, great friends and a mostly good life. I can just toss them away, right? No, because I'm a sympathetic person and have to help people. What happened to being all tough and emotionless? Is it hormones? Cuz I'm not liking this one bit.
----------------------------------
'I don't understand why people don't read nowadays.'

Hermione was being her annoying self, as usual. Uh-I mean... Oh, shut up Cass, and try to be more friendly to her. Although I do like hating people..

'I do read.'

'Then why haven't I seen you read or even carry a book around?'

'Um, excuse me, school textbooks??'

'Not that kind. The kind that you read for fun.'

'I thought you liked all books. What have you become?'

'Well, anyway. Why don't you try going to the library and actually READING something?'

'Um, hellooo, do you think people live off of reading Hogwarts, A History? There ARE no entertaining books in there!!'

'History is so much fun! Honestly. What would you rather read?'

'Fiction. You know, muggle books that people actually want to read. Seriously, who chooses the books that go into that library?'

'Madam Pince. Well, some of the teachers also do some-'

'Exactly. And you know who's boring? The teachers. And what does that mean? Those books are lame and no one actually reads them.'

Hermione rolled her eyes.

Silence.

'Why did you have a crush on Ron, anyway?'

Hermione's face reddened. She looked flustered.
'Uh- I.. How did you transition from books to Ronald??!'

'I'm just always wondering how you became attracted to him. So??' I smiled cheekily, poking her arm.

'I... That's none of your business. L- let's go back to books.'

She started tidying up her books.
I caught her arm.
'When did it happen? Was it crush at first sight?'

She piled the books into her bag that was already bursting at the seams.
'I don't want to talk about it...' She mumbled.

I pressed on.
'Come on, I won't blame you. Everyone has crushes. You can tell me-'

'LEAVE ME ALONE!'
Hermione stormed out of the library, Madame Pince tutting about how Hermione betrayed her trust, she was the student she least hated, blah blah.

I stood there, frozen to the spot.

'What's wrong with Hermione?'
Ginny's eyes widened, clasping her hand on my mouth. It smelled flowery.
Like, lilies.

'Shh! You can't say that! She has super good hearing. Her big ears are hidden inside that bushy do of hers.'

I pried her hand off. 'She's left the dorms. What are you so worried about, anyway?'

'She's been super moody lately. And it's not period moody, either. Have you noticed anything suspicious lately?'

The mysterious note swam into my mind, but I pushed it away.

'I don't think so. So, the third task.' I changed the subject.

'Eh, Harry's gonna survive. I just hope I can survive the year.'

'Aren't you excited about the money? He's probably gonna give some to you.'

She shrugged.

'He's either gonna use it on something really stupid or really selfless.'

'I just think everything's happening so fast. Soon it'll be summer, then it's start of school again, which I dread.
I'm-'

Just then, the door swung open with a bang. Hermione stood in the doorway, eyes red and puffy, her nose looking like Rudolf's.
