I finally found what I came upstairs for, a first aid kit. I heard someone walking up the stairs earlier but I didn't bother to check who it was. It was most likely Carl and he isn't in the best mood so I don't plan on bothering him.

I walked down the stairs and watched as Rick tried to push a couch against the door. Carl wasn't helping he just stood by the door, tying what looks like television or maybe audio cords to the door handle.

"Here let me help you Mr. Grimes." I said rushing over to Rick.

"I got it." He told me. I ignored his comment and helped him push the decent sized sofa over to the door. He looked over at me and smiled weakly.

"I tied the door shut." Carl told us.

"We don't need to take any chances." Rick told him.

"You don't think it will hold?" Carl asked, annoyance obvious in his voice.

"Carl."

"It's a strong knot. Clove hitch. Shane taught me. Remember him?" Carl asked. From the look on Rick's face I could tell it was a sore subject, yet I'd never heard of someone by the name of Shane.

"Yeah, I remember him." Rick said calmly. "I remember him every day. There something else you want to say to me?" Rick asked. Carl didn't respond he just helped us push the couch closer to the door. I'm honestly tired of the way these two are acting, I don't even know if my father is alive. They need to just be thankful they both got out and that they are together. They could be out there all alone wondering if the person they love is even alive out there. "This'll have to do for the night." Rick told us. Rick went over to the couch and sat down.

"You gonna have some?" Carl asked as he tried handing him a bag of chips.

"You two should eat."

"We should save it." Carl said harshly. I never know what to say when they bicker, I just keep my mouth shut because I know if I don't I'll go off on both of their sorry asses.

"Hey." Rick tried giving Carl the bag again.

"I don't want any." Carl fought back, it was only making me angrier and pushing me over the edge.

"Eat it. Now." Rick demanded. Rick walked off and I followed behind him.

"Where are you going?" Carl asked me, his tone a harsh and demanding one.

"None of your business, eat your food." I snapped before walking off. I didn't even give him the chance to respond, I didn't want to hear whatever bitchy thing that was going to come out of his mouth next. "Mr. Grimes?" Rick turned around and looked at me.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"I found a first aid kit." I told him getting straight to the point. He nodded his head and I walked off to the kitchen with him following behind me. I pulled the island chair out for him to sit. He didn't though he just stood there and watched me look through the first aid kit. "Sit." I demanded. He finally sat down in the chair.

I began to clean his cuts, each time he'd wince in pain causing me to apologize. I was cleaning his bloody forehead and I could tell it hurt. The blood was still oozing out of it, it looked like he hit his head on a rock, it was so deep.

"You okay?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He simply stated. "Thank you, Ava." He told me.

"Sure thing, Mr. Grimes." I spoke with a small smile on my face.
