Chapter 8 Betrayed?

Max, Scamander and Star all separated ways moving to different shops and alleys. I decided to polish my rolling skills. I entered a turf war. I noticed Retena on the other team. I smiled. I finally got to see her again. We were in Arowana mall. I ran forward with all my might pushing the roller as fast as I could. I split up from the rest of my team, leaving them in the dust. I rise up over the steep ramp and I went on a rampage throwing ink everywhere. I splatted 2 squid kids with the stray ink. "PSST!" I turned. Retena motioned for me to follow her. She hopped off the platform she was on and swam up to another platform. I followed spreading ink still. "What did you-" I was interrupted by her entire team. They all ambushed me killing me instantly.

I respawned angry. "She..... BETRAYED ME!?" I angrily ran forward faster than I ever had I ran up the ramp effortlessly. I saw the squids moving in the ink and splatted them all and jumped away. I splatted 3 of them. Retena must have been left. I was about to move on when suddenly I got sprayed by green ink. "UGH.." This ink stung, it burned. She skipped forward grinning. She knocked the roller out of my hand and pushed me over. She grabbed my neck and pushed me deeper and deeper into the ink. My vision became blurry.. This wasn't splatting. This was murder. In my last desperate breaths I grabbed the roller with my feet and threw it up. She looked up. "Ah!" She yelled before it crushed her. I coughed up some green ink and stood up. I picked up the roller and pushed on. The game ended. I was betrayed. And so badly.. That. She even tried to kill me.

The game ended and we still had our weapons. I ran forward angrily. "YOOU JERK!" I yelled swinging the roller down on her. Her face looked terrified and she desperately tried to escape the roller, but poofed. She respawned. "How could you do that to me?!" She yelled. "How could YOU do that to ME!!!!??!??!" I shrieked. "I thought you were a friend! I thought I could trust you!!!" I yelled. "But I can't. You betrayed me. Why happened to you?" I asked. One of her team mates stepped forward. She looked like a drag queen. Her eyes were full of eye shadow, her hair looked fake, her lips were covered in lipstick and her entire face looked plastic. "We happened, you puny little wretch." She said flicking my forehead. My eyebrows furrowed down. "Mmhmm!" The two other chimed in. They all looked like evil fools. But I could tell they were bad players. They had no talent. Only cheating. "You all have no talent. Give up now. You suck." I said before quitting. Their faces looked shocked.

I felt in my pocket. I had a phone.. A bit late a must say.. I texted Max, Star and Scamander

'Please come.. I need you guys'

'What happened?'

'What's going on?'

'Just come please..'

'ʙᴇ ʀɪɢʜᴛ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴀᴜʀᴇʟɪᴀ'

I close my phone and sat down on a bench. And cried. They all rushed in. "Aurelia!" They said in unison. I cried. And cried. Star looked shocked. "Aurelia! Your neck! What happened?!" She asked. "R..re..tena.." I mumbled. "That girl you waved at earlier?!" She asked. I nodded. Star rolled up her sleeves. "OH THAT LITTLE WRETCH IS GONNA GET IT-" "No! I just need you guys!" I sulked. Max sat next to me with open arms. I pulled him into a hug and sobbed into his shoulder. Scamander and Star hugged me too. All I needed was my squad. My squid squad. They wouldn't betray me. They wouldn't choke me. They wouldn't try to murder me. We would beat their squad. We would beat them all. And become the most well known teenage splatters. Even younger than the squid sisters. "Come over to my house, you need it." Star said. I tried to wipe off my tears. I curled into a ball on the bench. She picked me up and carried me to the train station. She was like a big sister. She was 17 after all. Max and Scamander waved goodbye and went on their way home. We hopped on the train to Star's house.
