There were only two more rounds left. We could do it. We could be the surviving team. Oddly enough after Scamander's death my hair began to act strange. I sprang out of bed that day eager to protect my friends. We scanned our clothes and left. I was eager but also nervous, sure I was confident in my friends but I could never know what would happen. We headed to the teleporter and I took a deep breath. We entered the game.
'Port Mackerel'My stomach sank. There was no turning back now. We were joined by another player. She seemed familiar.. I finally recognized her. It was the girl with the paintbrush from my first Turf War. She was a level 32 now. She smiled at me a little. We ran forward and she separated from Max, Star and I. We ran towards the center and Star hopped onto one of the moving things. The shot long lines of ink making paths for us. We dominated the area leaving them with not much space to go. The other girl covered or tracks and covered blank spots we missed. "Okay let's-" "I got this." Star said epically jumping down and sprinting past us. "Bu-" I stuttered. Max shrugged. "I trust her, they can't be that hard. We heard a scream. "Not that hard he says." I said rolling my eyes and running after her. He followed and she laid on the floor splotched with green ink. I knocked the splash wall over and guarded her from the shots. Max took the other spot and covered her too. "What are you doing?!" She said just loud enough to hear. "You'll get killed!" She said in a raspy voice. "Snipe them while we cover you!" I said. She picked up her E Liter and charged it up. She shot down one, then another. "Cover her." I said running forward and splatting the other inkling before his next attack. I ran back, Star still on the floor. "Come on let's go." I said. "Aurelia." "Yes?" "I can't." "W..wh..what?!" I exclaimed. "I've taken too much damage, stray ink would kill me." She said. "B..but.." "Killed with stray ink you say?" A random inkling said. She sassily held her hands on her hips and smirked. Max and I flinched and got ready to attack. The threw a sprinkler near Star and Stars face looked sad but also hopeful. "Do great Aurelia. You and Max will win it all." The sprinkler turned and showered her with green ink.
We looked up for the girl but in her place was our teammate. Her face was green. She had splatted her. I fell to my knees and laid next to where stay was sitting. She was like a sister to me. She'd taken care of me. Tears streamed down my face. "Win it for me." I heard a whisper say. I turned and saw her small squid soul floating away. It faded after smiling at me. The game ended and we left. Max tried to comfort me but I ran straight to my room and collapsed on my bed. He came in. "Aura I know this has been a lot of pressure, stress and depression but you have me and we can win it." He said. "And how do you know that." I snapped. "Because I know if I've been here long enough my love for.. Well.. You. Will make it through this, and if I don't you will."
You will.
