I stared at Max. I tried to be angry but I couldn't. There wasn't a reason. I broke down crying again. He sat next to me and hugged me. "This... Whole time I had a bad feeling... About all of us... Entering.." I said between breaths. "I did too.." He said. I clung tightly to him. "We won't win." I said. "You're right. We won't, you will." He said. "And how will I win!" "Because I won't let YOU die." He said. I smiled a little. And closed my eyes.
The next morning we woke up and got ready for the final battle. I scanned my clothes and his and got ready for the battle. We walked out and came towards the teleporter. I was scared. My wins were probably all luck. He stopped me before we stepped on the teleporter. "Aurelia.. Before we go. I want you to have this." He said. He took off his gloves and handed them to me. "Remember me, and win it." He said. I nodded and slid them on with a satisfying snap. I smiled. "Thank you Max." I said smiling. "And I have a gift for you too." I said. "Oh what is it?" He said raising an eyebrow. I smiled and got on my tippy-toes and leaned forward. I kissed him and smiled. His face was red as a tomato. I smiled. "Don't think I didn't know how you've felt this whole time." I said. "Y-you.." He stuttered. I laughed and he smiled. "I guess it was pretty obvious.." He admitted smiling. I playfully punched his arm and headed into the teleporter.
'Moray Towers'
Our team had a normal looking girl with an aerospray. But the most terrifying thing was the other team. It was a strong looking guy with a heavy splatling, but the worst was the two others..
Retena and Crimson Bullet
Max looked worriedly at me. "Are you sure you'll be fine?" He asked. "They may have done unforgivable things, but that just makes it easier to splat them." I smiled. He smiled, confident with me. The game started and the girl was a lot worse than I thought. We ran off and she tripped and fell. Max and I went to the edge and showered the enemies in our roller's ink. She came forward and we let her handle the guy with the splatling. It appeared that she wasn't very bright because she walked straight for him and did so, SLOWLY. She was immediately splatted and that left Max and I to the rest. The Heavy Splatling aimed at us and I hit him with three swift hits from my burst bombs. Retena had a splattershot and came around and tried to hop up the wall. I was ready to hit her when I felt a breeze move by my arm. I looked sideways to see purple ink on my arm. Max had dodged it. But it wasn't enough. I realized the ink was from Crimson but it was too late. The E liter was charged and I froze. There was no where to go. And no time.
The aiming line stopped at my chest and everything moved in slow motion. The ink came forward and I closed my eyes. But something happened. I felt myself hit the floor and I heard a loud boom. I opened my eyes and saw him. "MAX!" I screamed. I scrambled up from the floor and rushed to him. Purple ink covered his shoulder and splattered onto part of his face. "Max.. Max no no no no no no no don't leave me!" I begged. He smiled. "Aurelia..." He said. I stared hopefully in his eyes as tears formed in mine. "I love you." He said. "No!! Stop! You're gonna live!" I said shaking my head. Tears started flowing from my eyes. "Don't cry." He said wiping the tears away. "I can't HELP IT!" I said bursting out crying. I shoved my hands to the floor and my hair covered my face. My tears dripped down to the floor and onto the gloves. "Run." He said. "What?" I asked looking up. "He's aiming. Run. Now." I saw the Lin show up on my arm. "I'll miss you." He said. I sniffed and he blew up into ink.
The line moved closer to my back and I heard the boom. I quickly rolled away and picked up my roller. Retena came up grinning and I angrily whacked her with my roller sending her back down to the ground. She angrily aimed ink at me and I dodged them all. I threw my roller over my back and ran through the field. I saw the aiming lines and dodged every shot. I jumped over them, rolled under them and all the while avoiding Retena. I made my way up and Crimson freaked out. He started frantically throwing burst bombs and I blocked them with my roller. I let out an angry shriek before smashing him with my roller. He blew up into ink and I smiled. Justice. Retena stared at me and blinked. She tried to stay confident but I could see right through her. Without a leader she was nothing. She was the same shy little girl I had met the first day in Inkopolis. She repeatedly shot and fired bombs at me. I avoided them all and charged for her. She screamed and tried to run but she was too slow. I caught up and delivered the same fate as Crimson. She blew up into ink and I smiled. "Too slow." I whispered.
I came out and dropped to the floor. "And just as expected, The Aura Roller wins it all!" Callie exclaimed. "Well that was a fight of a lifetime, and it was veeeerry entertaining!" Marie added. "That's all!" "Stay Fresh!" The show ended and they went towards the teleporter. "Ready to go home?" Marie said holding out her hand. I smiled with what little joy was left and walked forward and joined them.
Home..
