Everyone was asleep and I quietly got up and held onto my duffel bag. I went to the door and was about to open the door until I heard a rustle.

“Dessie?” a small voice called. I twirled around and I squinted in the dark. I could barely see a small figure sitting on a bed. It was Gabriella.

She stared at me as I walked over to her.

“Sh…” I said quietly and laid her down. I kissed her forehead and she fell asleep.

I quickly went out to the hallway and down the stairs. I almost screamed when I saw my uncle in a snow angel style on the floor, sleeping. I walked over him and opened the front door. I quickly locked it and closed it behind me. Jacob’s car was parked outside in front of my home, turned off. I pulled the hat over my eyes, put my hoodie over my head and quietly closed the door. I went into the passenger seat.

I looked at Jacob. He stared at me with sweet eyes.

“Did you leave a note?” he asked.

I shook my head, “Gabriella saw me so they’ll find out by tomorrow…” I said quietly.

Jacob sighed, “Are you sure you’re making the right choice going with me?”

“Yes, you’re my night and day, Jacob, if you left without me, I would crumple up and die,” I said.

He chuckled, “You’re my night and day too. I would’ve come back if I left without you.”

I stared at him.

He started the car and drove away.

“How much money do you have?” he asked.

“Around a thousand bucks,” I smiled.

He smiled.

“Now go to sleep. You need your rest,” he said.

I nodded and slowly fell asleep.
