I knocked on my house door. We were escorted by Lucy and her partner. Gabriella opened the door and looked at my eyes.

“Dessie!” she squealed and jumped on me. I laughed.

Blake ran to the door and stared at me.

“Angel?” his eyebrows furrowed as confusion was written all over his face.

His eyes widened. “Dessie! Oh, my – …I was flirting with you?!” his face turned red. “I was flirting with my younger sister?!”

I laughed.

“You were RIGHT under my nose and I NEVER saw that you were you!”

“You were love-struck by me!” I laugh.

Tears ran down his eyes and he hugged me.

“Aw!” Peaches squealed.

Gabriella jumped off of me and ran into Peaches arms. Blake looked at Peaches and smiled.

“She likes you…” I whisper quietly to him.

He lets go of me and went over to Peaches. I walked inside and Jacob, Lucy, her partner, Juliet, and Romeo followed me in. My mom ran to me and squeezed me.

“Don’t you ever do that to me again!” she cried.

I hugged her and my dad came over to hug me too. Carmen and Jennifer followed.

I saw OMJ and ran to him. I hugged his fragile body. “Dessie, I got a feeling you’re going to live a better life now…” he told me.

“Thank you…” I squeezed him.

Lucy came up to us; I went over to Alex and gave him a hug. I overheard them talking.

“So you knew where Dessie was all this time…you knew she was going to bring Romeo and Juliet back together…” she said.

“Yes, I did…”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I didn’t want you to get them until they came themselves.”

“How did you know that was going to happen?”

“I had a dream about it, my dear…I hope you and John live a happy life…”

“You’re a mysterious old man…” Lucy chuckled.

“You can call me OMJ; you can visit my home whenever you want…”

Lucy laughed. I went up to Pedro. I hugged him and kissed his cheek.

“Stop squishing me…” he mumbled.

“Whatever you say, big brother,” I smiled and rustled his hair.

He smiled as I walked to my mom and dad.

“I’m sorry I ran away…” I told them.

They smiled wryly, “No, we’re sorry…” my mom said.

“For what?”

“For never listening to you…”

“It’s okay…”

I looked around for my uncle. I saw him on the couch and he was staring at me in disbelief. I went over to him and patted his shoulder.

Tears ran down his eyes.

“She filed divorce papers…” he whispered more himself than to me.

I knew who he was talking about. He was talking about my aunt. “She had to file divorce papers, because it’s illegal to be married but live in different places…” I told him.

His eyes were bloodshot and staring into space.

“She said that she was sorry and that she couldn’t pay for me anymore…she said you would…heal…me…” he mumbled.

“Huh?”

“She said that you were special and to treat you better…” he looked at me. “I’m sorry for all the wrong things I said to you…I only said it because you reminded me so much of my ex – wife…you’re so radiant and I wanted to crush that. Now I understand that that is wrong…”

I smiled wryly and hugged him. “It’s okay…I forgive you…” Tears welled up in my eyes and I wiped them away.

“Is it true you used to cut yourself?” he asked.

I nodded and showed him my arms full of scars. He stared at it in horror.

“I did this to you…I’m so sorry…” he touched it.

“I did this to myself, okay? Don’t blame yourself.”

I looked around as my uncle spaced – out. I met Jacob’s gaze, he was watching me and my uncle. I smile wryly and he smiled at me. I love that smile…my smile…

A hand rested on my shoulder and I broke Jacob’s gaze by looking at the person. It was Lucy.

“Can I talk to you for a second?” she asked.

“Sure,” I smile.

I followed her to a quieter place and she turned around and faced me. She crossed her arms.

“How did you get Romeo and Juliet back together? They were practically enemies.”

I shrugged, “I just knew they deserved to be together, just like you and your partner – in – crime,” I teased.

Her face remained expressionless. She cocked her to the side and said, “You are one very special child…you look different than that depressed child in the picture. You look more…you…”

Her eyebrows furrowed as she thought about what she just said.

“My run away changed a lot of people. I knew you tried you best on trying to find me, but I think something or someone made it harder to find me for a reason.” I pointed up and my smile widened.

“You mean, God, stopped me from finding you?” she asked.

I nodded. A smiled broke across her face.

“I’ll reconsider that…”

“You have a very nice smile; let John be the bad cop…” I winked and walked away, I bumped into Juliet.

A smile was on her face.

“You’re a miracle…” she hugged me.

“Is that so?” I cocked an eyebrow, “It seems like everyone treats me like that…”

“You actually brought me and Romeo back together in only a couple of minutes. Our parents made us go to therapy and they were unsuccessful.”

I laughed, “Hey, anytime you want to visit me, all you have to do is call…”

Lucy went passed us and walked over to Jacob. I saw Jacob listening to Lucy then his eyes widened in surprise. Juliet turned around to see what I was staring at. Jacob ran over to me a smile on his face.

He swept me off my feet and spun me around. I giggled. He kissed me. “I have awesome news!” he gleamed.

“Which is?” I asked.

“My mom is in jail!”

“What?!”

“Yeah! They went to her house and found illegal drugs! She had it in plain sight too!”

“Wow, she sure is dumb…” I mumbled.

“Also, they searched the house and they found videos of her abusing me!”

“Why?”

“I don’t know and don’t care! I’m just happy that I’m free!” he cheered and kissed me again. “By the way, I have to go talk to her…”

He set me down reluctantly. I pecked his cheek, “Good luck.”
