I’ve been crying for a week and I never came out of my room. Juliet came in a couple of times to bring me food and told me that there was a funeral for my great grandma. I didn’t go, because I didn’t want to risk of anyone recognizing me. I always let Peaches inside my room when I was sad; like today.
She was hugging me as I cried.
“It’s okay…” she whispered.
“I want things to change…” I sniffed.
“Huh?”
“I think I should go back home…I’m causing Juliet too much stress…”
“Do you really want to go home?”
“Uh…not really, but I bet Juliet wants me to so she could have more time with Romeo…”
Peaches let go of me and smiled wryly.
“If I went back home, would you come with me?” I asked.
“It’s not like I have a life here, so yeah, I would…also if Blake would go out with me…”
I laughed. “The only reason I don’t want to go home is because Jacob would be abused and I would be ignored and called names. I don’t even have friends at school…”
I sighed.
There was a knock on the door, “Dessie?”
“Go away…” I mumble, I knew it was Jacob.
The door opened and Jacob stood in the doorway.
“It’s been a week, okay,” Jacob crossed his arms.
“I told you to get lost,” I growled.
“Ouch,” Jacob rubbed his chest and said, “That hurts…” he smirked. “Any who, you know I’m stubborn…” he closed the door and sat on my bed.
“And rude…”
“Of course, I’m sorry…” he told me. He held my hand and squeezed it. “I’m sorry about what happened a week ago, I got angry…” he said quietly. “I couldn’t believe your own brother was hitting on you…”
“I bet he was like that to me because I reminded him so much of me…he must have mistaken his love for Dessie as love for Angel…”
“Huh?” Peaches asked.
“I don’t even know what I’m talking about…I think it’s from the lack of sleep…” I laughed.
“Well, Dessie, I don’t care if you’re Dessie, or Angel, I still love you…” Jacob smiled.
I smile.
“I want to be with you forever, get married, have children…get old. I don’t care what happens in my life time, as long you’re by my side, I can survive every bump on the road.”
“That’s so sweet!” Peaches coo.
“It is…” I blush.
“So, I came in here to ask you, do you want to go home?” he asked.
“I don’t know…”
Jacob waited for my response.
“I don’t want to go home, but then again, I do…” I frowned.
“Make up your mind!”
“If we go home, we would be treated the same as before…I don’t want that…”
“Dessie, I can withstand the abuse as long as you’re with me, okay?” Jacob said.
I nodded. I let out a sigh, took a deep breath, put the best smile on my face, looked at Jacob and said, “I want to go home then…”
Jacob smiled. I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a kiss to his lips.
“I missed that…” Jacob whispered.
I laughed.
“That too…”
Jacob let go of me and went to tell Juliet the news. When he opened the door, Juliet was standing there, her hand up to knock on my door.
“I came to tell you that Blake went home…” she said quietly.
“And I came to tell you that Dessie wants to go home…” Jacob said.
Juliet stared at me and I nodded, smiling. “Took you long enough…” Juliet laughed. “I’ll call Lucy.”
“Tell her everything that happened, but tell her I want to surprise my family…” I told her.
Juliet nodded and went to her office to call Lucy.
Blake I’m coming home… I thought.
