We went into my great grandmother’s room; she was the only one there. She looked at me and her light brown eyes widened. I didn’t notice, because I was staring at all the machines around her and hearing an occasional beep from one of them. I went over to her feeble self.

“Dessie?” she touched my arm.

“I have a wig on,” I smiled wryly, “I dyed my hair blonde with highlighted blue bangs…”

I gave her a hug and introduced her to Jacob and Peaches.

“Is Jacob your boyfriend?” she asked me.

“No,” I responded at the same time Jacob said, “She doesn’t treat me like one…”

This time she asked Jacob, “So she’s your girlfriend?”

“I can’t quite tell…she was, but now she doesn’t like me…” he said quietly.

It was true…when we ran away, he didn’t feel like my night and day anymore…he felt different…

“Why did you run away?” she asked me, changing the subject.

I told her every single thing. She listened.

“So Jacob named you Angel?” she asked.

I nodded.

“Dessie, Dessie, Dessie…” she slightly shook her head.

“I’m going to miss you, Oh Great One…” I smile and kiss her wrinkled cheek.

“You’re leaving?” she asked, and then nodded, “At least give me a pen and paper…”

I gave it to her. “I love you…”

“Be strong…Angel; AKA. Dessie…” I held her gaze as she held my hands.

A tear went down my cheek.

“No tears!” she snapped, “Now, I want to tell you something before you leave.” She slowly picked up a shaky hand and pointed at Jacob and me. “Jacob loves you, yet you turn away from him; you love him, yet you turn away from him. You already gave him a chance and it went well, why not another?”

I blushed but didn’t glance at him.

“Maybe you should go back home…” she said.

“Maybe I should…and maybe you should stay alive until you hold your great – great grandchild…” I tell her.

“You’re pregnant?!” she gasped.

“No!”

She laughed, “You know I can’t do that, I’m too old…”

“You can do anything…” I smile lightly.

I hugged her.

“Peaches,” Oh Great One called her.

“Yes?” she responded.

“I think you and Blake would be a great couple…don’t ask why…”

Peaches blushed.

Peaches, Jacob, and I left Oh Great One alone as she scribbled on the piece of paper.

“Bye…” I closed the door.

Outside of the hospital I fell to my knees, crying. I couldn’t stop until a powerful arm wrapped around my waist and hauled me up.

“She said no tears…” Jacob whispered to my ear.

“I couldn’t help it…” I wriggled out of his grip and steadied myself.

Jacob twirled me around.

“Dessie, I love you…” he said quietly.

“I know you do…” I wipe away my tears.

“Look, each time you turn me down, I feel convinced that you don’t love me anymore…” he said, hurt in his voice.

I stared at his eyes.

“I’m sorry…” I smile wryly.

Jacob leaned forward and pressed his lips against mine. I gasped, but he kept kissing me. It was a long time since we last kissed. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back.

“I missed you…” Jacob said when our lips parted.

“Now look what you did…” I mumbled, “Now I don’t want to let you go…”

He chuckled.

Peaches clapped her hands and gave us a hug.

“That was beautiful!” she wailed.

“I didn’t know what I was thinking…” I whispered in Jacob’s ear, “I missed those kissable lips…”

He was about to tell me something until we heard a beep. It sounded familiar.

I looked around and saw a nice mustang behind me. I could see Juliet’s scowl. I stared at her in horror.

Now we are in big trouble…

“She’s going to kill us…” Peaches whimpered.
